(I must have responded before you did)

...and only once you've said that did it occur to me that the idea of tasting a color doesn't really make sense.
Which is weird, because when I read the word "Zinc" the taste I get is what I can only describe as "purple". Huh.

Heh. I think you mentioned that once before.
Maybe I'll make a gingerbread house at Christmastime.

(crosspost because this probably fits better here)
For some reason one of my most vivid memories of living in Whitehall is this one time when the street flooded. My mother took me out to play in the water, and this older girl—she was maybe 9 or 10—enthusiastically told my mother that we were standing in sewer water.
For some reason my mother got irritated by this little girl, so she took me inside and made me take a bath.

Do you ever have a memory you know is "wrong"?
When we lived in Whitehall, we were close enough to the school that my mother could walk me to kindergarten every morning. We walked one or two streets away and then turned up what looked like a driveway, but was actually a path that extended to the school.
At the near end of the path was a broken-down car, parked as if it were a driveway. I was 5 at the time, and I was just starting my license plate obsession. But when I try to picture this car in my mind, I picture it with a gold-fade license plate. I know that's wrong, because this was 1995 and it would be another year or so before Ohio used those.

...and now a mindleap means I'm thinking about how weird it is that Ohio hasn't done a general re-issue since 1991.
The 2009 "Beautiful Ohio" base was intended as a general re-issue, but was scrapped for financial reasons. So plates issued as far back as '96 are still valid with stickers.
(The blue-and-white 1991-95 plates were all replaced in 2002, when the Bicentennial base was introduced)

You know, there used to be a sign at Morse Road and SR 3/Westerville Road that said "SR 3C HWY".
("3-C Highway" being the original name of what is now Route 3, as before I-71 was built it was the only highway running through Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati)
I'm still kind of disappointed that I didn't get a picture before the intersection was rebuilt and it was replaced with a standard "JCT 3" assembly.

I have a memory of being about 2 or 3 and playing in shallow flood water. We lived in Virginia at the time.

It's a conspiracy.
