Oh. I wonder if that's my generation? I never know where I fall with these things anymore. I mean, am I old enough to not have the "kids these days" thing thrown at me anymore

I'm not even sure about what generation I fit in. I was born in 1977, so I'm right on the line between Gen X and Gen Y, but most of my friends are Gen Y.
I could try to describe the premise, but all you really need to know is that it falls into the iyashikei genre and is generally a very calming (and sometimes very funny) watch.
It errs just near enough to a true comedy that it's not boring, but not so much happens that it's not a good tranquilizer too.
I mean that in the best way possible, of course. I used to have a picture of this series' depiction of Death (she has a small role in I think one episode? not a major character) as an avatar.
I should note that I can't really recommend the manga. It covers most of the same ground as the anime but throws in a ton of unnecessary fanservice and sometimes skirts the border to ecchi, which is not something you want in a show about middle schoolers.

It was funny when I first got up, because as usual I grabbed the tablet I keep on my nightstand (internet addiction? what internet addiction?) and when I looked at the site I was like "hmm...something's different" but it took me until I saw Lee's announcement to figure out what had changed.

well, it was a really offensive article with an exceptionally dumb title, subtitle, and cover picture
so it makes sense that it's become one.

Pity about that. Man should be able to appreciate giant snails without the threat of brain disease.
