Check his page. It has a "last active" time.

(I say this because I sometimes look on the Dashboard to see if CA shows up in the "Recently Active Users" section.)
  • In Silico by Pendulum is really good so far.

I'd only been listening to the first few singles until now, but the whole album is for the most part up to their level.
  • Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
I know I ask "Is it weird that...?" a lot, but I'm thinking about this frequently lately.

Is it weird that my daydreams have a certain "canon" to them? It's not just one, and they change from time to time, but they're still there. I sometimes want to make them into a more coherent story, but I don't think I'd be able to do it very well.

I'm not going to share many of the details here, since it would take too long to explain fully, but there are three main "canons": two of them are about me in slight modifications on your usual fantasy story, both of which are very magic-heavy and one of which heavily involves dragons, and one of them is basically me as a Pokémon trainer/researcher getting roped into a shady experiment.

    I'm not sure.

I never really have "daydreams". I usually just think about my interests/emotions.

I'm like AU. I don't really daydream, I just think about my interests and stuff.

It's interesting, I can almost remember a time when I did daydream, but I'm not sure it ever really existed.

    I like "Propane Nightmares".

Which being called Bobby I suppose I should be experiencing.
  • I personally see it as their weakest album. (*Still Kinda Peeved About The Whole "We're A Rock Band Now!!!!!" Thing*)

^^ I liked it (well I would, I like rock music), but I didn't bother with the one after it because they had changed so much since I started listening to them.  Is it closer to their earlier stuff?
  • edited 2012-01-27 23:44:56

Their early stuff is straight up D'n'B,

I think In Silico and the stuff around that time (*See Also: their ugly remix of The Prodigy's "Voodoo People"*) didn't quite do the whole "Alt Rock + D'n'B" shtick right.

Immersion, on the other hand, blended them quite well.
  • imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
I kinda liked the "Voodoo People" remix as well.  IDK.  I'm not very discriminating music-wise, to be honest.

I'll have to get hold of a copy of Immersion.

I wanna listen to "Vault" again now.

I guess that answers that question. It is indeed weird. Though if it makes any difference, the "canon" daydreams are mostly done at night when I'm in bed but not falling asleep.

For some reason, I still want to make those into stories, though. Problem is, sleeplessness makes some of the scenarios and the characters' reactions a bit nonsensical, and I'm not sure how to convert that into something that does make sense.

I'm sorry Bobby, you can't ever be a metalhead.
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
Do you want to write something that makes sense?

Because I'd probably just roll with the nonsense.

I don't wanna be a metalhead.  They keep insulting music I like!

    (Works equally well for "hipster".)

OK, maybe I should go back to Firefox or try out Opera or Safari. Apparently Chrome enjoys feasting on the battery life of MacBooks.

No offense, but I kinda doubt it's Chrome that's doing it, since you complained of the poor battery life before you switched.
  • Metalheads? Discriminating?

Also: Bobby, is it true that in Britain electronic music gets radio play?
  • Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
@Anonus: I don't mind a good amount of nonsense here and there. In fact, I think it might help strike the balance between light-heartedness and seriousness that I'd want in a story. It's just that I'm not sure I've got the reaction to nonsense and certain conflicts quite right. I can't seem to find the right balance between "taking it in stride a lot earlier than is reasonable" and "over-the-top drama" when I'm sleep-deprived.
  • Living tissue over endoskeleton.
Metalheads were hipsters before it was cool.

    Also, our voices are gravelly-er.
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
Chrome's probably not helping, if I believe complaints.

I still don't know if it's the new Firefox, either.
  • imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
@ Naney: It does, yeah, although mostly the same songs over and over even so.  But that does include more "underground" genres.

I haven't listened to the radio lately so I don't know what gets played at the moment.
  • (*Drools*)

We have... No electronic music on the radio.

Oh, and apart from going to a dedicated record store, forget finding anything apart from a few shitty Trance compilations.
  • imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
I think it's a European thing, to be honest.  Electronic music is even more popular on the mainland.

Whereas it would suck to be a country music fan over here, I'd imagine.
  • edited 2012-01-28 00:12:33

    True.

That's kinda funny, because all the big things in electronic music come from little London clubs. D'n'B, Dubstep....

Dubstep has actually been getting traction in the U.S. ^/////^

OK, now it's a bit less than three hours (two hours and 57 minutes).

This just started and I still wonder why. I don't know if Firefox is to blame or not!

Alright, now it says three hours and six minutes. Last time the problem was being caused by Netflix.
  • imagei will watch the heck outta this pumpkin patch
Dubstep is sufficiently mainstream here that people take the piss out of it a lot, which is an achievement I guess.
  • Globe: Ooh, I saw Kill Bill recently and I liked that song.
  • Never seen Kill Bill, just stumbled across the song.
