  • Ugh, I've lapsed back into whiny mode. Sorry, you're the first human I've interacted with in like 2 hours and I get that way sometimes. >_<

You do not need to apologize to me Central, I am nothing if not patient when it comes to the angsting of others.

My progammers designed me that way for efficient human interaction, a growing AI needs a lot of input after all.

  • You know, I feel too much importance is put within the term AI "Artificial Intelligence" thus I will retroactively coin the term "Natural Intelligence"

    NI

Technically speaking, in terms of playing god, creating NI from scratch seems like a much bigger problem than AI.

I think Minato is dating like 4 different people in my game right now... >_> Do they know about each other?

Odd thing: When I'd first heard of homosexuality and transsexuality, when I was about seven, I had no problem with it. But then, about two years later, up until about three years ago, I did.

What changed? My parents were never homophobic or transphobic.

your parents may not have been but what about the kids you went to school with

idk about you but kids in primary/secondary (elementary and middle if you are american) school just love going 'haha youre gay' 'thats gay' etc etc and so kids just pick up a negative attitude towards it

of course a lot of them grow out of that but still

Even when I was younger I thought the kids at my school were full of crap.

I misspoke in the original post, actually. I stopped being homophobic pretty quickly but transphobia lasted much longer than it should've.

    True.

I was never really homophobic or transphobic in my youth, but I really didn't understand how the first one worked until I was about eleven or twelve and was only vaguely aware of the second for a long time. As a consequence, I definitely said some homophobic-sounding things, but I don't think I meant them in that way.

Then my best friend came out as a lesbian. And then I started to realise I was bisexual. That changed things.

I must be the odd mare out here. I always just kinda felt like homosexuality made sense, even before I knew there was a word for it. I remember being like 5 and being annoyed that all the love songs on the radio seemed to be addressed from a man to a woman or vice versa. Love shouldn't be limited to specific pairings, right?

As for transgenderism, well...like I've said before, my first thought upon learning what it is was "You can do that? Yes, that means there's still hope for me!" Somehow it only took me 10 more years to come to terms with what 11-year-old Avenue already knew.
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that I intuitively had some kind of understanding of what I was feeling long before I knew that I was feeling it, but I wasn't sure how to process it and said questionable things to try to seem less like what I really was. Like making overcompensating remarks on how attractive another guy would be to girls when complementing the way he was dressed. Granted, I was about ten or twelve and clueless about sexuality beyond some basic mechanics that I learned via medical texts—I read a lot of those—but still...

The first romantically tinged piece of fiction that I wrote or planned was actually about two guys, so I guess that says something.

I was confused more by the phobias than the actual things themselves, then I realized that certain phobias develop because of how our brains are wired, and that phobics, though wrong with their lifestyle choices, were still human beings so long as they can squash their urges to discriminate.

Why, someone should open a service club for Ex-phobics.

Sometimes I wonder what weird sentences I typed for my tablet's keyboard to learn the things it did.

When I type "consider", for example, the next word it suggests is "witchcraft". What?
  • My friend had gotten 300 dollars for her birthday, but then her laptop broke and she wouldn't be able to get it back for a month.

She bought another laptop. That makes me mad for some reason.

    1. My social skills must not have kicked in for today yet, because my first thought was "why do you even care how someone else spends her money?" >_>

    2. I'm in that state again where I'm loopy but no one else is and I worry about being disruptive if I post nonsense.

Somehow I knew what that video was going to be before it loaded

Can a monarchy have two princes?
  • Perils of Ice Mountain was a dumb quest.

The entire point was that apparently one coal based power plant would be enough to destroy the world.

I've seen it described as so stupid it's almost unplayable. I agree wholeheartedly.

I figured someone would post that song

They did a Sesame Street version too

    Anyway:

    Central Avenue: Princess of #trashheap
Anonus: Prince of #trashheap, married to Princess Avenue
    Section42L: Also a Prince of #trashheap

...I guess that makes SF_Sorrow a princess of the heap too, if she wants to be.

How do I make people like me?
  • More people have said that and been killed than there are thorium decay products.
No no you don't "make" people like you. Either you are something people like or you aren't, and I am like a used piece of paper that wrapped a chicken sandwich five years ago, with outdated logos and everything. -_-
  • It's an inexact science.

But a good rule of thumb is that when you see people getting mad at you, ask yourself what you are doing wrong, not them.
