Yeah, a lot of places that had large stakes in automobile manufacturing are like that. Delco was founded in Dayton, so it was pretty important to GM's history.

Honestly, when I think of Dayton I think of Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
I've never been to Wright-Patt itself but I've taken classes in Fairborn, the adjacent suburb.

Hahaha the 2009 MUTCD specifies that the stripes on a railroad crossing gate be made vertical instead of angled 45°

The reasoning? Diagonal stripes on other types of barricades are meant to indicate the direction you're meant to drive around the barricade. Since you're not supposed to drive around crossing gates, they made the stripes vertical instead.
