When a goon is angry at someone, but doesn't want to actually deal with their problems, they will buy that person a new avatar, but have the avatar be red text saying something stupid the person said or something like "I AM A HORRIBLE PERSON WHO SHOULD KILL THEMSELVES".
sa likes to rail against 'nerds' any opportunity they can (not a bad thing mind you), but this is because they are/were all nerds themselves who have since become painfully self aware. it follows that if you are a goon then you must be or must have been at some point, a nerd of some description, otherwise why would you pay $10 to join an internet site (its a fair policy but anyone who didnt have knowledge of sa wouldnt pay it because lol, who pays for things on the internet?? and you would have to have spent a fair amount of time on the internet to know about sa, and if you spend a lot of time on the internet, well...)
Completely true! Yeah, it was that self-awareness that made some goons to be genuinely funny people and some others to be overtly-spiteful.

Oddly, that configuration seems to be more common in Canada than it is here. The US seems to favor just going all-out and using 12" lenses for all three--like the one I have here! (Ignore the mess in the background, that's the half of the basement I'm not responsible for cleaning -_-)

@ CA: 12" lenses are getting phased out over here.
In favor of what?
Interestingly, the US standards have been phasing out 8" lenses in favor of 12" lenses more and more. Under the latest standards (2009), new 8" lenses may only be installed if the speed limit is 30 mph or lower or it's being used to supplement other signals with 12" lenses. They do specify that existing 8" signals may be retained for the rest of their service life, though, so there hasn't been a huge rush to replace them.

A point against Vanilla Blue: it doesn't give any default styling to <blockquote>, unlike Vanilla Poppy, which gives them that yellow background.
Granted, it would be easy enough for Lee to fix if we ever wanted to use this theme for more than a day at a time. Just add a single line of CSS to the Vanilla Blue stylesheet.
I find it strange that Square Enix now owns Lara Croft, Just Cause and Hitman for some reason
Maybe it's the whole "Square = Final Fantasy" thing screwing with my head since it's only been since 2011 or so that their purchase of Eidos has borne fruit

There's no rush to replace 12" lenses, but no new ones are being installed.
That kinda makes sense, when you think about it.
From what I've seen, it seems like most signals in the UK are post-mounted at the side of the road. In the US, most signals are mounted overhead, meaning they're a little farther away from the driver, so the larger size might be a bit more beneficial.

And this is true.
It's dumb.
Just post about something you do care about, it's what everyone else does.

And then probably get bored and go back to Vanilla Poppy.

I've known for years, yes, but Rockstar differentiates itself from 2K enough that it almost feels like it's independent. They're like night and day.
You're probably right there. i must admit i've never given it much thought.
i'm sure there's a particular trick to it but i haven't sussed it
