One thing the schools here love to do is the dreaded two-hour delay.
See, in this state, each district only gets a small number of "free" snow days, and once they've used those up, they have to make up any additional snow days by cutting into summer break. But if they just delay the start of school for two hours, it doesn't count against those days, so they'll tend to go for that before actual closures.
(It doesn't help that our superintendent is from Cleveland, which is right on Lake Erie, so the amount of snow we get here is NOTHING to him.)
