I hope that helps imi ^_^ now you know *exactly* how long it is!
  • upd8's the tag that tumblr uses for Homestuck updates.

I trawl through it after updates to watch people overreact and laugh at them.

I worry about the morality of it sometimes.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
I think that pretty much establishes that it's way too long for me.

  • World building idea:

There are three races in my comic, as of yet unnamed (but will for the sake of convenience be referred to as elves, dwarfs and humans). Dwarfs were descended from giants, a race that used to dominate the world but whose society collapsed. Elves were descended from the fae, and humans were descended from some apelike thing that I've hardly fleshed out yet, which were both enslaved by the giants.

Problem: I want the races to be able to breed, hence why I say "race" and not "species." Can different races of an animal have significant differences in form or will I have to change their ancestry?
  • Yes.

I am the ashamed owner of one.
  • THIS MACHINE KILLS FASCISTS
I'm reading about SCSI standards. Apparently Ultra640 and Ultra1280 parallel SCSI were canned because they would have required shielded twinax cable to work properly.

You know what already uses shielded twinax cable? SATA. So they said "Screw it, let's run a new serial SCSI protocol over SATA cables and call it SAS."

    I got Rayman 2: Revolución.

I was too busy Portaling earlier to play it, but maybe I may do so later, I'm out skating at the moment.

Chihuahuas are adorable! Think of dogs. Dogs vary in characteristics greatly by breed (due in large part to many decades of artificial inbreeding by selfish humans) but they are very much the same species and can produce offspring with a mixture of traits, which is the natural thing anyway, like when humans reproduce! Cross-species reproduction is also possible at times, like when a horse and a donkey reproduce to create a mule, but I somehow think this is an artificial, human thing.

(yes i know i was pretending to be ashamed just in case anyone here would insult me for liking my tiny adorable dog)

That was what I thought of first, honestly, but I wanted some confirmation. Thanks!

Also- certain elves are able to produce a venom that can destroy the brain of whoever it is used on and make them extremely subservient. Basically, these elves are vampires and the venom allows them to create ghouls. Is this possible?

^^ A venom that basically turns people into zombies? It's no more impossible than any other instance of something similar! :p

If Omnivius can do it, anyone can!
  • Cool. I had this really cool idea where the vampiric elves would be forced into hiding and their venom would be extracted to make slaves or expendable foot soldiers or something.

  • I watched The Perks of Being a Wallflower recently.

That's a really hard movie to watch at certain points.

I was invited to watch it liiiiiike some time ago, so I did. It was very positive, but in a 'real' way.
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
I own the rights to it. :P

...on a more serious note, how clichéd are hexagons, in association with sci-fi, action/adventure, science, and technology?
  • I found it hard to relate to the characters because they were music nerds and I'm everything but a music nerd.

But I loved the use of music in the movie to elicit emotion.

They are clichéd perhaps due to resembling the skeletal formulas used often in organic chemistry (which translates to zombies, aliens, monsters, mutants, etc.).

I wanted to use a hexagon-shaped "G" as the logo for ABC Inc's Syfy-competing brand Galaxis (the word is German for "galaxy", though before I knew it was a word I conceived of it as a portmanteau of "Galaxy" and "Polaris")...

I'm worried that I'm not imaginative enough to come up with something that isn't clichéd and boring...
