    @Lee: That's fine, no hurry. Thanks! ^_^

    Bobby agrees with my opinion

    I feel validated

Also I don't understand everyone's obsession with Kankri, he's amusing but he's a very one-note character and seems more like comic relief than anything else

i like Kankri because he's amusing, but i know what you mean.  Most of the pre-scratch trolls are flat characters.

Having said which, i nonetheless felt that Kankri in the comic itself was more interesting than how he generally gets portrayed in fanart.

    Sometimes I want a cane.

I haven't gotten one, though, because I worry it would be offensive to my mother, who actually needs one.

Something good! Social justice is a good thing!
  • not in the way sjws use it

I had this lovely conversation last night, and I learned to kind of re-think the way we generalize stuff. Of course, every subculture/movement will have people who take it the wrong way, but I think we should appreciate the overall movement of social justice. :D "sjw" means "social justice warrior," yes? Social justice is a fight! Say it with a smile!

I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but when I say "SJW moment" I mean being overly confrontational about something stupid.

I thought you hated America though

I dunno. I hate a lot of things that are deeply ingrained in American society (like our whole gun culture), but the general statement "I hate America" strikes me as throwing the baby out with the bathwater. There are a lot of Americans who are good people, after all.

    Also: I was being facetious.
  • Finally have my computer. Wheeeeeeee

    Well, yeah

I just meant that you seemed to view a lot of American culture with disdain

    ^Yay!

Also, for some reason I'm thinking of one of the Dr. Ashen videos in which his gadget-of-the-week came packaged with an AC adapter with a North American plug. His stated reason for why the plug was useless to him wasn't that the plug was the wrong shape (though it was, of course), but that it only had 2 prongs, while UK outlets have slots for three prongs.

I get that it was supposed to be funny, but that always struck me as nonsensical. Obviously a plug with only two prongs can be inserted into a socket made for three prongs. That's how, like, 90% of stuff in the US plugs in.

@AU: If it helps, I view a lot of human culture with disdain.

    why am i so misanthropic

#otherkin can be fun to peruse, on occasion, provided you can look past the dozens of people who think "lol otherkin is bullshit" is the epitome of witty humor in and of itself

that reminds me of #pixiv edits

the whole tag is telling people to stop doing pixiv edits

    like

i've found a grand total of one pixiv edit while perusing the tag
  • I love the weird squelchy sounds on this album.
  • also i am working on a new tune that is pretty rad
  • that is pretty rad.

I have like five tapes I'm one or two tracks into each that I'm working on.

    I'm so scattershot.

  • I have a tape recorder.

I should actually record an album of mine to cassette.

just for the sake of doing so.

  • if this track goes well i might continue in this vein
  • make like an album

    make a new bandcamp page

    put it up
  • random tapes I might make, a list:

The Last Parking Lot in America -- Lo-fi experimental thing, possibly with vocals. Current tracks all have guitar samples. Possibly under the name King K'iud.

The 80s, The 90s, and Now -- tape of pop song flips, probably would all be pretty short

    tape of J-Pop flips

    Dreamtime America -- House-ish album

tape of weird IDM-ey stuff under the name Bankerhead ft. The Black Tower

    I sometimes lurk music forums.

Just the sheer amount of hate people like Sun Araw attract is strange.

Like I don't mean "I don't like this" stuff, I mean like "I don't like this and it sucks and it's stupid and if you like it you're stupid and you suck and you're probably fat" stuff.

  • dude what forums do you lurk
  • forums

no but I really don't lurk any in particular but sometimes I'll come across singular threads and be like "oh hey I'll read this" and I usually regret it.

  • protip: everyone on the internet is a pleb, especially the peeps on music forums
  • i wonder how long it will take for me to start saying pleb unironically

    i give it 2-3 months
  • I will light you on fire if you ever say pleb unironically.

    with my brain

also I wrote rap lyrics on tumblr earlier and am already embarrassed by them

  • There is a song called "SOPA" on Control System, named for the Stop Online Piracy Act; Ab-Soul includes a pointed lyric about Trayvon Martin in his verse. But the beat, which shudders and lurches like a dying car, will make you scrunch your face and jerk your limbs like you are suffering neurological crisis. Schoolboy Q is on the song, too, and he would like you to know that he fucked your girl.

For every dumb review on Pitchfork there is pure gold like this paragraph.
