There's a joke that implies Pinkie Pie got Rainbow Dash drunk at Cadence's wedding
I think I went to Bottom Dollar once, years ago, in Manassas. The color scheme reminded me of the Pic-Pac in Louisa, KY that my grandmother used to shop at all the time—blaze orange everywhere.
Doctor Who reference in Pokemon B2W2? Headcanon accepted.
what the hell is it with networked Windows systems and their needing like 6 minutes to start up after logging in
it was even worse in the military, it would take around 10 fucking minutes (not even kidding) to get from the login screen to a desktop that you can actually just click on, much less open anything
Wrought Iron has less than .3 per-cent carbon by weight, and 1 or 2 per-cent slag by weight.
At a grindstone, wrought iron makes dull red sparks that have long streams and do not fork until the end, where they fork like the veins of a leaf and become white.
Wrought Iron is a strong metal (in that it is hard to break), but it bends too easily.
Between .3 per-cent carbon by weight and 2 per-cent carbon by weight is steel.
Steel is less bendy but just as strong as Wrought Iron. Steel, on a grindstone, makes white sparks on the lower half of the .3-to-2 spectrum and makes yellow-white sparks on the higher end of the .3-to-2 spectrum. These sparks are shorter (about 25 inches) and fork much more, they are like the branches of a tree or a lightning bolt.
If the iron has more than 2 per-cent carbon, it is Cast Iron.
Some people classify Cast Iron containing between 2 and 8 per-cent carbon as low-alloy steels; but really, it shouldn't be really counted as steel; and neither should "high-alloy steels" with more than 8 per-cent carbon.
Cast Iron, IIRC, between 2 and 8 per-cent, makes yellow to yellow-red to almost entirely red, in ascending order of carbon concentration. Above 8 per-cent it's red.
So, the color you want if you're making steel is the white. Too much carbon, and you get red. Too little carbon, and you get red. That's why both the less-than-.3 per-cent carbon (wrought iron) and more-than-2 per-cent carbon are called Iron. They both make red or reddish streams. Steel is not a two-word term with iron as the last word because it makes white sparks.
I guess everybody, after trying to read this, went "Steel Deer. Why shouldn't Iron away from this wroughten tripe."

I'm a West Side girl in the body of an East Side boy.
I've said that before, but I like that sentence, for some reason.

Windows domains rely heavily on DNS and LDAP, and if the domain controller is busy or hung, it may take a while to get its attention.

...does anybody actually choose a phone based on what processor it has? As long as it's decently powerful and has the features I want, I could care less about what's under the hood.
Or is it "couldn't care less"? I was never clear on that.

I finally have 96 followers.
Not like that's a milestone or anything, but I'd been hovering between 93 and 95 since, like, November, so it feels good to finally get past that.
(Now watch as someone promptly closes their account and brings me back down to 95)
The waiting produced a languid disenchantment with time itself: free time sapped of pleasure because there was too much of it, weekdays like weekends, weekends like nothing, the accustomed rhythms of life removed.
I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat

For some reason this made me think of how the bird character from Channel Umptee-3 looks like the lovechild of the Road Runner and Kazooie (though this show premiered less than a year before B-K came out)

Linky.
Above 2 per-cent, the spark streams become short.
