RAM and laptop batteries aren't as insanely priced as they used to be. Then again, 2009 is about four years ago so I'd think that it'd probably make more sense to just upgrade.
Yeah, you can get 16 GB of DDR3 for a song these days, relatively speaking. I remember when 4 MB was considered a huge and expensive amount of RAM (circa 1991).

So, list of priorities for when I get some money:
Meet up with Anonus
Buy a new laptop
There was a third thing, but I forgot what it was.

Also, my sister wants this laptop when I get a new one. I told her she could have it and I'd reinstall the software and stuff for her but that I'm not buying a new battery or anything.
Neat, I'm playing Ashens videos in the background here, and the latest one I started had an unskippable :30 commercial with GUY FUCKING FIERI in it. Fuck you too, YouTube. :P

Dr. Ashen videos in the background? Are they even that entertaining when you can't see whatever broken toy he's complaining about?
CA: Well, it helps that I've already watched most of the videos properly. I have to have some background noise or I will get sidetracked or drift off, so...
Forsythe: Then again, I've actually driven in storms that bad. I actually managed to get our Jeep stuck in the snow on the worst day (my Prius had already gotten rear-ended by someone who couldn't drive in it).
I find that, since I started college, I've started associating video game prices with food.
It's 6 dollars for a burrito at any nearby eatery. Now, whenever I buy something that's 5 dollars or more, I ask myself 'Yarrun, is this game worth missing a meal for?'

"Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience".

6 dollars? Holy shit what a ripoff
With 6 dollars you can buy the ingredients to feed yourself a burrito every day of the week and then some

So not, 'Yarrun, is this meal worth missing a game for?' then

Damn, all the conservative folks I know are getting all up in arms over this national service/draft proposal.
I think it's just what this country needs. Boot camp and a civilian service derivative of it would work wonders in getting people started off right and moreso if their service footed the bill for university or a trade school.
I wouldn't want to be drafted into a war. I don't think I would ever be able to knowingly kill someone; at least not without becoming a much different person than I am now. I wouldn't want my family to worry about me every day.
I don't like the institution of the military. It's not safe for soldiers, and it costs too many lives.

National service isn't the same as the military.
And statistically speaking, boot camp in the US military is the safest place in the world for 18-25 year olds to be. The typical urban high school is far more dangerous.

Quoth John Jaques:
Oh say, what is truth? 'Tis the fairest gem
That the riches of worlds can produce,
And priceless the value of truth will be when
The proud monarch's costliest diadem
Is counted but dross and refuse.
Yes, say, what is truth? 'Tis the brightest prize
To which mortals or Gods can aspire;
Go search in the depths where it glittering lies
Or ascend in pursuit to the loftiest skies.
'Tis an aim for the noblest desire.
The sceptre may fall from the despot's grasp
When with winds of stern justice he copes,
But the pillar of truth will endure to the last,
And its firm-rooted bulwarks outstand the rude blast,
And the wreck of the fell tyrant's hopes.
Then say, what is truth? 'Tis the last and the first,
For the limits of time it steps o'er.
Though the heavens depart and the earth's fountains burst,
Truth, the sum of existence, will weather the worst,
Eternal, unchanged, evermore.
