I installed a trial edition of Windows 8 in VirtualBox. I figure if I'm gonna continue to bash the software I might as well use it for a while first.
It's too bad they've shoved all the desktop stuff to the backseat, because I actually think the redesigned theme for windowed apps looks pretty nice. It's a shame they went and buried it under tons of fullscreen menus and crap.

HOW WOULD ANYBODY KNOW THAT'S THERE? There's nothing at all to indicate that it's a clickable object and not just a margin to the right of the clock. The only way you would know that is if (a) you're already familiar with Windows 7 (not a given; I know plenty of people who still use XP) or (b) you discover it completely by accident.
