CA: I've been reading about water and sewer infrastructure, myself. It turns out that PWCSA's latest capital improvement plan has pictures of a now-demolished water tower in it that used to be just down the street from this house. I squeed when I saw that. Really.

Right now I'm looking on Google Maps for buildings with suitable parking lots that I can draw over.
I'd like to do two: one where the building is standalone and has a self-contained parking lot, and one where the building is attached to small strip mall and shares its parking lot with adjacent entities.
I was looking mainly at Central Ohio, more out of habit than anything else... >_>

Sonic has some funny moments. Like Sonic Xtreme, the never-released 3D game for the Saturn. A more-or-less complete build of the game turned up and was put up for sale. Some insane fan paid something ridiculous, like $5000 so the game could be HIS and ONLY HIS. Anyway, a little time later, another build of the same game turned up and the guy who found it .... released it on the internet for free.

All users may use [Windows app] for 30 days for evaluation purposes. After 30 days you may use it only if you take fewer than three flights in any 12-month period (i.e. at most one return flight per year). If you fly more than this you must purchase [Windows app] Pro to continue using the software after 30 days.
Well, good luck enforcing that licensing agreement, fellas.
Little do you know that they've installed a tracking device in your phone/tablet. Every time you launch the app, it activates. If you attempt to travel for a 4th time, the bomb that was also installed in your phone triggers.

Friend of mine reporting on pulling into Fort Bliss in El Paso to stay at billeting (basically the hotel) on base, and says that there's a Denny's on the base. A freaking Denny's.

Parking lot + wide angle lens is a neat combination.
It accentuates just how much our landscape is dotted with deserts of asphalt.

The funny thing about "Thank you for your coming" is that it is, technically, grammatically correct--gerunds get a possessive.
I get the feeling some translator went to the effort to follow the rules of English to the letter without realizing nobody actually talks that way.

The whole "use a license game as a dongle" thing is hilarious, BTW.

WHY?
Why does it have to take up the whole screen?
Why did Microsoft's designers think that displaying 20 words and a progress bar required the use of an entire 17" monitor?

Does anyone else find it ironic that an operating system called Windows is now trying to push full-screen apps and shove actual windowed apps on the back burner?
deas only exist with the extraction of them through consciousness. We create an abstraction of these "ideas" in our minds and, in turn, through art and technology, an abstraction of an idea is made that was extracted from consciousness. Ideas must have existed before us, just as the ideas on the internet are predated by the ideas the brain comes up with.
So, if everything on the internet existed prior to it's manifestation, is it not already a copy? Doesn't this mean copyright laws can't logically apply to the internet?

Supposedly intelligent people being afraid of an omnipotent future AI that doesn't even exist yet? It sounds like, well, pretty much any Star Trek episode with one of those.

my sister was raging at a video game and she did this thing where she raised up in the air and slammed down on the chair three times in quick succession
it looked like something out of a warner bros cartoon
I hate parking lots. Ugly useless wastes of space so carpeople can park their precious cars. Also, I hate it when old roads get fixed and repaved, because old roads have their own look and feel under the feet, and just plain stupid black asphalt gets old after a while. Not every road should look the same, people. Also, what is it with all these right angles in streets? It's stupid, soapy, practical, and logical; and it makes the architecture of cities boring for the sake of making it easy for carpeople to drive their precious cars around.
Now every dang road and every dang city look the same, and nice parks and gardens and cool old buildings that are interesting and unsafe/ugly/have character get torn down to make parking lots.
Thanks for making all of America look the exact same, Eisenhower. No wonder people say that our culture's has not enough decent architecture and interestingly designed roads.
Stupid carpeople and their precious cars; driving all over the roads.
-is bitter about being woken up at precisely 3:48 every night by the screeching of a loud truck on the road.-
-is also all sour-grapes-ish about having too poor of hand-eye coordination and dexterity to operate a car; not to mention too short arms and legs for driving-

I really hope that it doesn't take
This reduction of GUIs bothers me :/
You can pretty much completely ignore the "Touch" interface in favor of something that's basically windows 7. It helps to pin often used programs to the dash.
After doing this, it's almost like having two operating systems.
I should get my Ultrabook with touch interface today. I'm wondering if I'll find the touch style much more useful.
