Back when people started to share these games online it started with BIN/CUE+MP3 and that wouldn't have been so bad if they used a decent bitrate (at least 160kbps) to encode the music but no, just about every stupid motherfucker used something like 64kbps

I can explain a bit of this

Before the 80's, nobody really gave two shits about this sort of symbolism. For instance in the Star Trek saturday morning cartoon (which was awesome) one episode had the crew of the Enterprise run into the town of Salem Massachusetts where Spock stood in a pentagram to make magic work and then Kirk, Bones and Spock had to defend Satan at a trial held by the townspeople. The intro to the Planet of the Apes saturday morning cartoon showed human beings crucified. Then the 80's happened with the Satan scare and people started to freak out at every kind of religious symbolism and it's taken this long for us to wise up and recover from that foolishness.

I had one on my birthday, then another one a week after; I have several more scheduled in the coming months because of my teeth. Didn't mention it before, but I guess it's worth mentioning now.

Also, I'm apparently going to have a consultation with an orthodontist about my jaw. I'll probably have surgery.

My mother wouldn't allow me to have soda or sugary cold cereal growing up and a severe limitation on sweets so consequently I never had a cavity (and even then, it was just a minor one) well into adulthood

He nailed it. I posted this to Facebook and my conservative friends are trying to tear me down. Sorry, but a quote like this just needs to be heard.

Kind of reminds me of all those bedroom synth-rockers like Robert Rental and Daniel Miller during the late '70s and early '80s. Rental actually built his own syn-drum setup so that he could actually play the beats in his music instead of programming them. Kraftwerk did the same thing back around '72, too; ditto DEVO, before they were a big deal.

I kind of want to jerry-rig a system like that...

I'm thinking about pulling it out of my closet and getting the MIDI dongle out. I want to play with some stuff.
