I keep listening to this on a loop:
It's the onestop.mid file included with Microsoft Windows (check C:\WINDOWS\MEDIA\ if you're curious), but played through a modern soundfont instead of Windows' default not-improved-in-15-years midi playback.
Doctor Who reference in Pokemon B2W2? Headcanon accepted.
The father of one of my friends passed away, and his father in the computer industry. Anyway, said friend is cleaning out all of his dad's old tech stuff and he's found alot of old, never-opened still-in-package old tech and one of the items is a Diamond Monster PCI soundcard from 1996 complete with a detachable wavetable on it (which means I can replace it with any other wavetable I want.) So I made an offer on it -- turns out these old sound cards are still demanding $50-70 new on amazon and ebay and the like.

oh my goodddddddddd
sell that to a producer. Those things go for way more than $70 amongst musicians. You can wring really cool sounds out of them if they're hoooked up to the proper equipment.

I used to have an AWE32 (maybe I still do, I don't know) with 8MB on it. Also had a few wavetables, including a nice Yamaha one.
When I was over in Japan I was hoping to run across a shop that still had those rackmounted Rolands and Edirols but I really didn't go looking -- hell, I didn't know where to look.

Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
Cornelius Cardew's "suddenly extremely earnest Maoist" musical phase is deeply odd
he was a very western avant-garde composer in the 70s who then did a huge u-turn, renounced the avant-garde, begun composing what he thought were rousing socialist anthems (they're a bit.... uh... "adorable."), and was promptly mysteriously killed in a hit-and-run accident
huh
all we have are these earnest, pretty much kitschy now, extremely amateur (he was against trained musicians), in contxt of his death though almost haunting songs...
Sunn Wolf what is avant-garde, anyway? I've seen people call 11.975MHz "avant-garde" and I guess that means "weird and new" as best I can tell
avant-garde is just basically a rejection of normalcy.
you could call 11.975MHz avant-garde because it's not very similar to contemporary comics. Though it has a little bit in common with some other webcomics.

Happy Birthday, JZ!
It occurs to me that I could have easily checked your birthday before by looking on your profile page... >_>
does CB radio transmit on 11.975 megahertz or does the name come from somewhere else?
At the time there was this rather odd Japanese fellow on the IRC channel I hung out named Ryo Shiroma who liked to listen to shortwave radio bands and he would announce such on IRC, such as "Listening to 10.800MHz" and the like. Whenever I came up with Deco and company, I stated that I needed a name for my comic and stated that the next statement on the channel was the comic's name, so you know the rest.
Anyway, I found out a few years ago that Ryo quietly left America and returned to Japan and passed away. Nobody knows from what, we didn't find out until years later when one of his family contacted one of his American friends.
Also, Ryo was the one who came up with many of the strange terms in the comic, such as "wm" which TVT lists as an "arc word" for some reason.
well then let's see what this webcomic business is all about th-

well okay, just clicking on the website and seeing this, completely without any context, certainly comes across as having at least a sniff of the avant-garde about it
i am going to have to find out what on earth is going on here

That's sad.
Also "wm" was probably put there by the two or three people who are convinced the comic has some super secret plot.
Comments
The plot you came up with looking at the covers was generally better than the book itself.
Skullboy's logo was a little larger than that though, maybe 50 by 50, but not too big.
I think the default avatar should be a picture of a blue ball.
Just my opinion honestly.
Given what we know about Mega Man, wouldn't that tattoo imply that he killed a marine and stole their powers?oh my goodddddddddd

Ah.
This is a valid reason for wanting one.

And you were tiny and covered in strange fluids
But now you're here and awesome!
And this is a strange birthday poem.

it is when a work of art is - usually quite deliberately - experimental or unconventional. basically breaking away from general norms in culture
i have never read your webcomic (maybe i should? i might do that now) so i cant tell you how accurate they might be
apparently isolation and being alone is a trigger for me
