Ahh, good ol' online correspondence courses. I did all my schooling through those (well, high school and 8th grade. Below that was good old fashioned homeschooling through snail mail).
WEll, I hope things work out for you. sounds like a fun position :/
I'll still be here as much as I am now, just that I'll be teaching them how to do fractions about half the day.
also it's not a correspondence course, it's a bit hard to explain what it is though.
Think of a combination of a MathXL style service for every subject plus infrequent meetings with their actual teacher via a Skype-ish service and you're in the right ballpark.
Oh, okay, I figured it had something to do with that. And man, do all yaoi fans have to act like they're 14-year-olds with their first crush? Jeez.
Every fandom has a large minority that is incredibly annoying, loud, and attempts to shoehorn their media or phenomenon of choice into everything else.

that is true
but yaoi fangirls are exceptionally awful
every fandom is "exceptionally awful" if you're around enough of it.
AU: Yes. There were people crazy enough to think Dominic and Elijah either did have something going on, or ought to have. I'm pretty sure the Crystal girl that started the huge flood of comments on fandom_wank that time was a Domlijah shipper.

That doesn't seem too bad for them...except for math. Math's not the kind of thing that should be taught solely on computers.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
“In the instances when POC say shit like ‘Oh I can’t stand white folk’ or ‘Damn white people’, they aren’t saying ‘Oh I think they are inferior, I want to humiliate them, abuse them, enslave them and wipe out their people!’, they’re saying ‘Damn, after a couple hundred years of white people thinking I’m inferior, humiliating me, abusing me, enslaving me, and trying to wipe out my people, I don’t wanna deal with them.’ The context is completely different.”
I don't know if this is just me being horrifically white or something, and I'm not going to post anything on tumblr because I'll get eaten alive, but this really does not seem okay to me?
Like, I think one of the biggest footholds racism still has--especially the kind of racism that these people are fighting against--is the idea that "black people", "white people", whatever "people", are a monolith in actions and thoughts, and there are so many generalizations here it just pisses me off.
In an ideal world no one should be saying "damn [x] people" ever about anyone. And "not wanting to deal with them" is not really an excuse, and I don't think many people ever want to genuinely not deal with an entire demographic. That strikes me as incredibly "-ist" regardless of who doesn't want to deal with who. I cannot imagine myself ever saying this kind of thing about straight people, and lord knows sexuality is the only demographic in which I'm a minority, but I can't help but think that that kind of thinking ("I can't stand anyone who's [whatever]") is both not as common as this quote makes it out to be and incredibly unproductive.
I don't know, I'm annoyed and depressed by it, but I hesitate to even say anything for fear of being called racist or whatever. But I wanted to get this off of my chest because it's bugging me.
Also this was formatted as a quote on tumblr so even if I did want to reblog it and add my thoughts as comments, I can't.

Naney: Regarding that ask: The fact that the poster had to write a "I am not your babysitter" message at all speaks volumes about how helpless some people seem to be on Tumblr...

My parents are splitting up and it's not clear how often we're going to have the kids.
I don't have to raise them really, but I have to teach them. They go to Connections Academy which is a hybrid cyber/homeschooling thing.

I believe that this was a very reasonable explanation for why some people don't ship Johnlock.
Suffice to say that the responses to this on Tumblr were....significantly less reasonable.
Oh, it's fine.

Because I know what is best for you.
Because I am the government.

I dunno.
I think what I'm saying is common sense but it's probably just my white cis-oppressor euro nature or something.
It is.
I saw it awhile ago. It is.
