BTW, if you're browsing at work, don't click off of this article to look at the whole blog. There's a nude picture in there.
Isn't the identification of Harman's Heideggerian influence with fascism dubious, if not outright fallacious, though? His ontology is not intrinsically linked to his political views.
And i mean, Heidegger is unfortunately unavoidable, isn't he? Like, as a lit student, i don't see how i can really ignore Heidegger when so much of the thinking on language and culture that came since was either influenced by or in reaction to his views.
Also there's a strand in philosophy that this guy appears to belong to that doesn't view pretty much anything as seperable from politics.
That said judging by the guy's "about" page he's a bipolar gay man who was born into a Jehovah's Witness family, so I can't blame him for being sensitive to bigotry.
The sort of elitism from the ask-er is the reason that people look down on the arts, by the way.
i sincerely doubt it; i've almost never seen that attitude expressed by artists and i've seen similar attitudes expressed by people in other career paths.
i think the reason people look down on the arts is because they resent people getting paid to draw things they don't personally like.

You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
Idea: a pizza joint in an old fire station, called "Three-Alarm Pizza". The place is decorated in firefighting memorabilia and the employees wear cheap plastic firefighter hats.

I just had one of those bizarre "PULL TO OPEN" moments. (Yes, that's a Doctor Who reference.)
I was desperately looking for something to wipe my glasses on, because I can't do so with the shirt I'm currently wearing...then it dawned on me that there's been a microfiber cloth in the bottom of my glasses case for the past two years and I never use it.
i like fedoras but i don't own or particularly want one. i think i'd be perceived as pretentious or else as hopping on an already-tired trend.
yessssss
like i don't care if it's bad fashion i just want to be able to wear a cool hat and not feel terrible about it and i don't think that's unreasonable to ask for

If you make cardboard hats as table decorations and serve vegan breadsticks, I'm in.

You know, people always like to nitpick that scene in "The Doctor's Wife" by pointing out that "pull to open" refers to the telephone compartment, and not to the main doors of the police box. True, but the main doors should still open outward. Think about it: If you have a police box where the doors open inward, you'd essentially waste half the space of the box because you'd have to have clearance for the doors to swing inward. It would be like the door in your front closet swinging inward...it doesn't work.

I saw that and thought it was amusing.

That's basically what that guy was doing.i didn't know that they were being regarded as a symbol of MRA types though and this makes me sad.
