I realized after I posted that that it sounds like I'm calling the English boring.
I was trying to make a joke on the fact that my name, in addition to being English in the sense of "originating in England", is also an everyday word in the English language, but that joke doesn't work unless you already know that second part.

The people on the far left side of the tree who are Sicilian like to claim they're related to the Gambino crime family, but no one is entirely sure if that's true or not. Meanwhile the Russians, Dutch, and Swedish all like to claim royal descent, the Brits are barely there so I have no idea what they think about anything, the Ukranians hate the Russians and the Germans hate the Dutch. I think the Kenyans and Japanese are probably just confused as to why all the white people are fighting. If they get "confirmed", I'm sure the Jewish portion of our family will do the same.

the exciting thing is that i am a reasonably direct relative of some dude who killed king william II of england but i probably mentioned this before because its the only thing about my family thats that interesting (apart from the fact that my last name means "dwarf swamp" in original etymologies of it)
Is it possible for a 30 minute cartoon to feel longer than that?
I feel like the new TMNT show on Nick does that, but in a good way. In general it's fun, not quite as great as the other two shows could get but I'll give it time.
I wish I could watch more but I'm not subscribed to Hulu. :/

You know, it kind of bothers me that people will use parodies of Somebody I Used to Know to express their opinion on something and put themselves in Gotye's position, even though the point of the song is that Gotye's character is whiny and self centered. Actually, given that I'd say putting a Star Wars fan in his place is very appropriate.
