@The last page: That article is pretty extravagantly loathsome. I mean, beyond the obvious slurs, blanket statements and incredibly asinine tone, the article is disingenuous to whit: Burchill completely glosses over the reason why transgendered people and their supporters protested Julie Bindel's Stonewall nomination in favour of name-calling. Really now.
Also, there's something horribly ironic about the fact that the person that the article is "defending" already responded to the situation in an infinitely more mature and infinitely less bigoted fashion.
That response article seems kind of defensive to me. She's basically saying, 'there are more important issues, now leave me alone'.
She's still repeating transphobic stereotypes there (the 'MtF were like this, FtM were like that' part), and she's using a misreading of Butler to make her position sound more reasonable and informed than it is.

This is definitely true, but comparing Moore's response and Burchill's, it seems that Moore can at least be reasoned with on these issues. For example, if a transgendered person were to actually take her aside and lay things on the line, I think that she would listen.
There is a distinct difference between ignorance and hatred. Moore is ignorant, although she may not realise it; Burchill is simply hateful.
Cream, don't lick me. I'm fine with dogs doing that, but random strangers on the Internet is just crossing one too many lines. Oh thank the gods you just got Mojave...
Ugh, why am I having a sudden dizzy spell? The world is sort of quickly shaking back and forth, like I'm giving very tiny shakes of my head very quickly.

Welcome to my world.
You may have an iron deficiency. I'd get it looked at.

Susanna Moore writes an article about the recession trashing women's lives etc but uses the phrase ""not having the ideal body shape – that of a Brazilian transsexual"
