I wanted to see whether the comments were bitching about the song being sampled, people bitching about the song being stolen from the source that sampled it, or people listening to the music.
You see, this is how the secret service ends up on your doorstep
oh, no, now I get it.
It's a lynching joke.
Mr. Political Cartoonist, who do you think you are? You think you can come in here with your nonexistent backgrounds and your walls of text and tell me that we should lynch our president?
Do you have any idea about the kind of message you're presenting? You're validating people like the white supremacists who tied a man to a truck and drove until his head popped off. In the name of politics. You're joking about reinstating one of the worst things in American history (and that's saying something) to make fun of a man who'll fall off the public radar in 5 or 6 years.
I should steal your doorknobs and rip up your political cartoonist's license, you are so blind.

of course it's a lynching joke! What's Obama-bashing without a good ol' side dose of racism?
the sheer amount of "it's called the WHITE house for a reason!" comments I saw in that one article on the subject made me want to puke.
Honestly I'd rather have a political discussion about this than continue feeling like I'm feeling right now.
Doctor Who reference in Pokemon B2W2? Headcanon accepted.
Mojave, no. I never claimed to know your situation and have never tried to condescendingly steer you in a direction that I see is fit.
You get upset over opinions that other people have and you think that gives you license to treat them like shit for it. As for this "flipping out" behavior, there's not excuse for it. And I quote what you just said:
I know I flip out sometimes and I apologize for it, I try not to you have to realize, I really do. But it's either here, or it's at home and I'd much rather do it on a forum, to be perfectly, bluntly honest with you.
...where you channel your outside anger onto a forum of people whose only capability of wronging you is to say something you don't like, and nobody here deserves that kind of treatment. There's no excuse for that no matter how you justify it to yourself.

Lynching is something that particularly gets my goat.
It's one thing to joke about the Third Reich. It was terrible for everybody involved, yes, but it was 70 years ago. Hitler's decaying, the death camps are rusting, and anti-semitism went out of style with anti-Southern Europeanism.
The last lynching occurred after I was born. And you can still see more than a few vestiges lingering about. You could, with sufficient bending of the definition of lynching (i.e. describing it as "white men killing black men to protect society), apply the label of lynching to the Trayvon case.

I know you've never outright claimed it, that's just how some of the things you've said in general in the past have come off. I don't think you're really the kind of person to do that on purpose.
I think the best way I can put this--and this is a weird phrasing, so I apologize--is that you often seem like you're trying to "parent" people. Like, I often get the impression you're trying to impart some sort of life lesson--I don't know if you actually are, but that is how it comes across. At least it does to me, I can't speak for anyone else. And I....don't like that, honestly. Because a lot of adults I speak to on a regular basis do do that, and do it deliberately (I am again not trying to say you do it deliberately) and it's really quite annoying.
You get upset over opinions that other people have and you think that gives you license to treat them like shit for it.
No I don't. I sometimes get angry about what people say, that is completely true, but I do not think "this person has a different opinion than I do, I should yell at them!" I am not sure if that makes even the slightest difference to you, but there is no premeditation there, you should realize.
...where you channel your outside anger onto a forum of people whose only capability of wronging you is to say something you don't like, and nobody here deserves that kind of treatment. There's no excuse for that no matter how you justify it to yourself.
I'm aware of that and this is the entire reason I apologized. Now the source of my frustration here in this particular instance, is I think a little different, but, this is one of those things that I've talked about where I feel like I'm fifteen again, because this used to happen to me a lot, and then it stopped for awhile, and now it's happening again, and I don't really know how to not blow out like that.
And this does sometimes happen to me in real life too, granted not nearly as often and generally more over being teased and things like that than anything said I didn't agree with.
I've been recommended to take anger managment classes several times. I actually used to, but they did not really help me. Of course said courses were through a Catholic school, so I have no idea how representative that is of secular, unaffiliated courses.
I realize at this point that I'm basically just rambling. I've been typing this post for almost twenty minutes now and I don't think it's any more coherent than it was when I started.
Right. Should have specified that I meant 'in America'. Anti-semitism originated in Europe and the Middle East, so it's going to be harder to weed out there than America. Same way that the common conception of lynching is an American concept and deeply rooted here. Hardest to wipe out evil in its birthplace. Except in LOTR, that's an exception.
Sometimes I think it's weird that there was a time that racism was considered normal, and then I remember that I live in Palmerton, where it's totally still considered normal.
Sometimes I worry that my sensitivity to things like this is just me trying to be different. I don't know.

And I'm done.
Though making jokes about lynching is about as poor taste as it gets.

I think this literally just a case of "Someone said something and no one could prove it wasn't true."

Straightdope has an article on the subject, if any of you care to find out whether or not Walt Disney was really a racist/antisemite/etc.
He apparently testified for the HUAC, which is damning enough, in my opinion.
Despite Family Guy.
this phrase bugs me
Apparently it haunted him for the rest of his life.
was there like ever a non-modern time where racism wasn't normal
like was there anywhere in the ancient world you could go and be of any skin color you wanted and not get shit for it
