When activated in ALTERNIABOUND, Trickster Mode will cause a picture of a strange female John to appear (a John version of Vriska), and a variant ofTOTAKA'S SONG will start to play. The active character will then be transported with a CHRONO TRIGGER "GATE" effect to THE JIDOOR RELIC SHOP (from FINAL FANTASY VI). NESS, PAULA, JEFF, and POOfrom EARTHBOUND are at the side and GAMZEE is dancing behind the counter of the shop.

I Knew It! That and there's quite a few plot similarities between Homestuck past, oh, [S] Jack: Ascend (the last half of Act 4) and Final Fantasy 6. Jack is pretty much Kefka (before you ask: English is obviously Giygas), the trolls' plight is reminiscent of what happened to the World after the statues were moved and the Light of Judgement, and [S] Cascade is them finding the airship and "Searching for Friends".
