had to help my mom set up the mp3 player I got her for christmas.
None of the mp3s I transferred off of her phone were labeled with anything but a random sequence of numbers. I've learned not to ask about such things.
Anderson photographed men who called to her or whistled her on the street. In her artist statement she writes about one experience,
“As I walked along Houston Street with my fully automated Nikon. I felt armed, ready. I passed a man who muttered ‘Wanna fuck?’ This was standard technique: the female passes and the male strikes at the last possible moment forcing the woman to backtrack if she should dare to object. I wheeled around, furious. ‘Did you say that?’ He looked around surprised, then defiant ‘Yeah, so what the fuck if I did?’ I raised my Nikon, took aim began to focus. His eyes darted back and forth, an undercover cop? CLICK.”
Anderson takes the power from her male pursuers, allowing them nothing more than the momentary fear that their depravity has just been captured in a picture.
When he was still cute, a little boy with curly blond locks, Jean-Paul Sartre had the first of his many existential crises. One evening while helping his mother serve dinner, he suffered the horrid realization of his own inauthenticity: "And there I was," he recalled, "A bogus child… holding a bogus salad bowl."
also I love Ulrich Strauss. I have two of his albums, I forget the titles off the top of my head tho.
also on our way back from the store my mom and I stopped to look at the used car lot, and there was an absolutely awesome candy-painted jeep for sale there.
the only place i can find any of their stuff is on Hard Wax, and they only have one EP which is out of stock, and even if it wasn't i don't have a record player.
^ They have releases from a fair number of big names like Rockwell and Instra:mental, i think it's more of a whole boutique label thing going on

I discovered today that I don't like most guitar music.
Well more, I came to the realization. Unless it's heavily unconventional (like say, post-rock), I just can't get into it.
It's "ghost" in the old sense of a synonym for "soul".
As in the expression "giving up the ghost".
it's really good

ohai
anyway yeah Ulrich Strauss is a baws mutha.
is pun.what's Darkestral?
if it's a single artist it's probably because he never posted it. iTunes sales don't make great revenue.
*whistle*
Reminds me of the bullshit Cassette Assassins used to do.
They probably pride themselves on being "underground" and such.
