unpopular opinion: i like the new beyonce song. i think “who run the world (flesh eating moths)” just flows better than “girls”. i mean its pretty lame that we’re slaves to a tyrannical regime of flesh eating moths but not everything about it sucks
I have been going at this FUCKING WINDING PATH for hours now, and naturally Java decides to freeze right when I'm near the end. I log back on, guess what? I died, lost an invaluable and most importantly really freaking hard to replace item.
Doctor Who reference in Pokemon B2W2? Headcanon accepted.
CA I'm looking to see if there's a way to unlock a RAW photo mode for your camera but unsurprisingly, I can't find anything (or any other neat hacks)
I've had a few fujifilm digital cameras myself and if there's one company that locks down its cameras from the consumer messing with the firmware, it's fuji. That's not to say their cameras aren't good because they are, I got a hell of a lot of use out of mine including the macro and ultra macro modes. For instance:

Were you one of the people who didn't understand Calvin and Hobbes's appeal?
I'm talking about how comics are meant to be fun to read and enjoyable, and then you ask me this
The two things here, they do not jive
I was going to say something along the lines of 'your views on what comics should be makes it easier for me to understand why you're not fond of Calvin and Hobbes, and here are the reasons why'. But I don't remember if you were one of the people who said that they didn't understand Calvin and Hobbes's appeal (there are two or three heapers here who said that), and I would have made even less sense if I wrote up the thing before confirming that you actually don't understand Calvin and Hobbes's appeal.

I'm going to go with Naney on this one.
The only proper response to videogame frustration is to go outside and do something outdoorsy. Like kicking tree stumps.
Of course, it's already past midnight where you are, so you're probably not allowed outside right now, making funny noises into a pillow your best bet.
Imagine if Runescape had Skyrim's graphics but Daikatana's AI programming.
What's frustrating is that the good parts of Runescape are really really good.
But the bad parts are really really bad. I suppose it may have something to do with the fact that most of the particularly annoying content is older, but there is no reason why the final part of a quest after I've already fought all four bosses, I've already encountered two winding paths (winding paths, I might add, that I had to go up three times) should be this annoying.

I understand Calvin and Hobbes' appeal just fine, and Calvin and Hobbes is one of the best comics of the past few decades, no doubt. Calvin and Hobbes never really appealed to me though -- I preferred the sardonic humor and art of Bloom County and still do.
I really don't care too much for Pogo as a read either, but I love Walt Kelly's lush artwork and cartooning and can look at his stuff for hours on that alone. I love Crumb's and Shelton's work from the underground days. I like stuff that's appealing and/or fun to read. Grimdark serious-as-shit superhero comics nowadays tailored to the sophisticated adult reader, however, are anathema to me. Pure garbage. I'd rather watch a test pattern on TV than read that shit. If I want to read serious literature, I'll go read serious literature, not grimly illustrated cartoon books where they try to inject some cartoon spandex superhero into some wannabe serious literature storyline.
Along with that, on the long plane flight over to Tokyo, I watched that new Batman movie and promptly fell asleep. I do not see the appeal at all.
Serious criticism is handled almost entirely by people who get the appeal. If a criticism is prefaced with "Now, I'm not a fan of this type of thing..." then the criticism is almost always invalid.

it's not criticism, it's him explaining why he doesn't like it
That was actually more of a general statement. The first time I thought of this was when I saw a review for a JRPG that started with "I hate JRPGs" and I just thought "WELL GEE I WONDER HOW THIS REVIEW IS GOING TO GO"
I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
Who made that illustration?
It made my mind leap to Fortune's current logo being designed by Cyrus Highsmith and how somebody with sense ought to commission him to create a badass cover for a magazine issue

Funny, I use mine for the exact opposite. I chose this camera because its 18x zoom lens makes it easy to take decent pictures of things like traffic lights and signs without having to be physically close to them (which is often not possible to do safely because, y'know, traffic).
I guess my memory is kind of muddled, because that wasn't nearly as stupid as I remember it being. I guess I must have mixed it up with every single review of a JRPG X-Play has done ever.
