I don't know what I want to minor in
I'm not even sure what I want to major in
People keep saying I should go for traffic engineering but I feel like I'd be more suited to a creative field. But at the same time, I don't know if I have what it takes to "make it" in a creative field.
Perhaps, but I would have to attend a university that offered undergraduate degrees with a major-minor course structure, which as far as I know doesn't exist anywhere in the UK.
I am studying English with Creative Writing as a single, modular subject, and no other subjects.

oh
well damn, from that description it seems rather limiting
Then I got to the boss and died without landing a single hit, went to the house for a mushroom and had to start the level over and was like, OK, not right now.
IIRC the ambiguity surrounding Birdo's gender started as a joke in the American manual for SMB2, and then some games ran with it and others didn't. In Japan, she is Catherine, and was always female.

A minor means you can program at a basic level, you could probably find some job that would have you, but you wouldn't be able to do anything too fancy.
A major means you actually get a bachelors and the college gives you a Diploma and you're going to have the basics down plus some specialization and will have a better chance of landing a higher paying job.
Basically the equivalent to completing "Uni" in programming. I don't think you guys really do minors, but you can minor in basically anything.
Why is it that every movie or show that deals with dinosaurs has to end with the meteor? It’d be like if every movie about the second millennium had to end with Ronald Reagan being elected president.

I actually know what a minor is and was just being a dick for the hell of it, but this is a nice explanation of what it entails in practice, so thanks.
Yeah. Wikipedia confirms that Catherine (her Japanese name) was originally female and no suggestion was made of her being male or transgendered. Subsequent games seem to be treating it as ambiguous.

Vivian isn't really equal. She spends the first half of TTYD being bullied by Beldam and before Mario came along she never had any friends. After they get over her being an ex-Shadow Siren she does get along with the rest of Mario's party...

I doubt there is quite as much stigma attached to it in Japanese media, but maybe I am wrong.
Actually Japan treats TG and TS folks like fucking shit. Birdo's status was probably a completely innocent jab at humor especially given the time, but if you want to see something that makes your blood boil, go read up on Poison from Final Fight.
Poison's first appearance in Final Fight featured her and a palette swap character named Roxy as recurring minor enemies for the player to fight. Named after the band by an unnamed female employee at Capcom,[6] she was designed by Akira Yasuda to contrast against the bigger characters in the game and move about randomly.[7] According to the book All About Capcom Head to Head Fighting Games, the characters were originally planned to be female, but were changed to transvestites (or more specifically "newhalfs")[8] due to the suggestion that "hitting women was considered rude" in America and the concern that feminist groups would sue.[6][9]

Ubuntu is nice to look at
I considered using it as ABC Lionsgate's corporate typeface but I didn't implement it very thoroughly and I dropped it when the name reverted to ABC Inc.

I'm going to change the 10-hit boss since nobody likes it. I'll find a way

I dunno about elsewhere, but in my continuity Birdo is definitely transgendered and now goes by Birdetta.
Seemingly, yes
Same thing with Vivian from TTYD

So not quite the same situation as with Vivian.
Ain't that the truth
