I think someone born as a pesgasus would have the hardest time with that. If you're born a unicorn, you can wear a hat and disguise your horn pretty easily. If you're born an earth pony, you just need to wear fake wings or a fake horn (though you wouldn't be able to fly or perform magic). But pegasus wings would be kinda hard to hide.

A transracial pony seems rather sad to me; considering things like flying and magic or a connection with the earth wouldn't be happening. It's a little further off the mark than transgender surgery.

Then again, there is magic, maybe getting a race change is as easy as paying some money to a unicorn who knows a polymorph spell.
