Yeah, I saw the website. Funny that something NBC itself is doing looks like it's being run on about the same budget RTV had, specifically "no budget"...

What would happen if Heapers' Hangout headquarters moved to a new office on Lyle Terry Bouleveard in Manhattan?

Huh, it doesn't appear to draw too heavily from the Universal Television library either...
I do sometimes wonder if CBS could sustain one of these kinds of channels. They own a metric fuckton of classic TV shows, and oftentimes I feel that they, not Viacom, should have kept TV Land, because the Paramount Television library was its progenitor anyway.
AU: Yeah, I have to wonder why CBS hasn't put much thought into this. Probably because their O&Os don't carry subchannels (last I heard; it may have changed since), and probably because all of the channels they have on cable are geared towards younger audiences.
And "old" is the watchword here: a lot of these shows are so old (pre-1960) that unless they're well-known classics like I Love Lucy, no one will even remember them. It may be better for the really ancient stuff to go to public television, just like old radio shows and once-popular music formats went to public radio.

New York-style signs are not my forte. ;_;
Also I'm wondering how they would do that in mixed-case, since the descenders might interfere with things...

I wonder if the public TV stations are willing to acquire the rights to them, though...
Or if they could even afford it. The classic TV rightsholders I can think of off the top of my head are CBS, SPT, WBTV, Universal, maybe Disney, Classic Media, and the Peter Rogers Organization, and most of those are units of bigger companies...
AU: Yeah, it'd have to be for the really old stuff. Anything they'd still charge big money for would almost certainly still be expected to draw viewers on commercial television.
And now I'm pondering how to make a modern Nixie-tube replacement built on newer technologies. I'm thinking etched light panels with orange LEDs, but I'm not sure how that would look.
