You know the main reason the "Windows 7" and "Windows 8" branding bugs me?

Counting Windows 7 as the "seventh" Windows requires relying on the internal version numbering for some releases (Windows 95, 98, and Me all being 4.x) and disregarding the internal version numbering for others (Windows 7 and 8 being NT 6.1 and 6.2).
