is it just me or do like all big-name remixes nowadays seem to have this whole THE DROP HAS LIKE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE INTRO thing going on

    isn't that what makes it

    like

    a remix?

    not realllly
  • A remix is just an alternate mix of a song.

Generally one that's noticeably different, but radio edits and the like are also technically remixes, even if they're never called that.

  • yeah, now that I think about it I guess not. there are some remixes that stick with the original song's general riff.

  • Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
Hey guys, sorry I haven't been on much today. I've been trying to catch up on my art history work. Thankfully, I'm almost done with the weekly film journal.
  • Doctor Who reference in Pokemon B2W2? Headcanon accepted.

There need to be more remixes of songs that do a swing/big band rendition

when it comes to fiction? yes

    1. Uncle Tom's Cabin

    2. Alice in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass

You could probably find these by seeing if any Electro-Swing artists have done remixes for anyone.

Depends on the film, really. The ones I watched early on were really interesting, but I started to run out of steam later in the semester. Plus, I got a couple that didn't tell me much about the "important aspects of the art" that the assignment calls for.

    Actually that's a great idea

I think I'll go poke around for more Electroswing goodness

    What were they?

Also I don't read as often as I should, so I have no to-read list

    Building the Great Cathedrals
The Life of Leonardo da Vinci
    Georges Seurat: Point, Counterpoint
Frank Gehry: Architecture in Art  (one of the frustrating ones that didn't give me much)

Oh! They weren't meant to be about film. I was supposed to summarize films that were related to the art we were studying. Sorry for the confusion.

    No, science has done well

Also this popped into my head:

  • The sadness will last forever.

    What's wrong?

Well this was an interesting day

Running on what little was left of my three hours of sleep, I drove to my career developer's office, which meant driving on the freeway for the first time in weeks. In the rain. At rush hour. While sleepdep'd as hell.

Then I literally had to keep myself from nodding off while sitting there looking at job listings with her, and I kept falling asleep just long enough to dream something unrelated and confuse the hell out of myself (remember, I have that weird possibly-narcoleptic thing going on where I dream instantly upon falling asleep.)

Somehow the drive home wasn't nearly as bad, and I managed to easily stay awake the whole time.

That said, I still haven't properly slept...I need to do that at some point... >_>

unhappy because work was going well until the last half hour when whoever runs the universe decided to test me. Then I went to Wendy's which usually cheers me up but I started getting a headache instead which is still going on.

    but it will get better

    I hope

  • Lee was working on it yesterday. Presumably he still is.

That's been happening to you too? I've had the same problem.

Regardless of the statement he's trying to make...how does that comparison make sense? The US Postal Service and an iPhone don't serve remotely the same function, except for the very vague idea of enabling communication.
So about this again, pages too late...

Was I the only one who thought the black iPhone looked really sinister here?  For a moment I was thrown off-balance and really wasn't sure what the message was.

That being said, I still have no idea if investing in the post office is good because it's not evil corporation, or investing in technology is better because it's new and not evil government.
