Hmmm...I think tropers are a pretty accepting bunch for the most part. Not sure if I've enountered racism, though the homophobic and transphobic pop up from time to time and tend to get buried under tons of angry posts.

This is one of the problems I have with OTC. People have to pretend every topic is worthy of discussion so we get a handful of bigoted yahoos and some wackos and people have to sit there and pretend what they're saying is at least worth the effort of picking out logical fallacies instead of dismissing it outright.

Hmmm...Never had much trouble fitting in on forums.
TV tropes was the first place where people thought I was the funniest guy on the planet. Granted, it was also the first place where I'd create fictional worlds where there where peanut butter and jelly wars and reference the Bible to create a sandwich messiah.
It does seem to me people are less likely to acknowledged when someone is being funny or clever anymore. MoFW moves a great deal slower, and many of the posts are simply when a mod tells a bunch of people to fuck off. This is especially glaring with Eddie, where it he's had many MoFW just because he closed a thread while expressing his dislike of people.
Not the sort of thing that pumps good emotions into the forum.
