Sega might or might not be a better company because of their first-to-third party switch; I still don't fully know.
Gotta admit though, I can't help but feel like the world kinda gave the Dreamcast the slip, which is strange since Microsoft swooped in with an extremely similar console (just with a DVD drive and more horsepower).
I don't know the history of the Dreamcast very well, but wasn't it Sega's fault that they didn't serve their customers very well? Maybe I should re-read about it.
From what I remember it was a bit of that and PS2 envy as well. Once Sony came on the scene with an upgraded PlayStation (with a DVD PLAYER), Sega got left in the dust.
Still, in a way the Dreamcast was just the first generation of the Xbox (both are based on Windows, in fact) so it's not totally dead. Heck, Microsoft completely aped the game pad design too.
(Only thing is they had to make it smaller. Tastes changed between the Dreamcast days and those of the Xbox, so the Dreamcast-style gargantuan controller design wasn't cuttin' it.)

So apparently at some point in the '80s some company produced near-exact knockoffs of Crouse-Hinds type R traffic signals.
But get this: They named this line of knockoffs "Chapel Hill" and branded them with only "CH".

Things that irritate me: Windows' lack of a cp -p equivalent.
For those who don't know, that's a Unix command that copies files while preserving the original timestamps. It's amazingly frustrating when I copy a bunch of old folders from a backup drive in Windows and everything has its "date created" set to today.

I ordered an item from Amazon.com yesterday at 6:33 AM and already UPS reports it's on the truck for delivery today.
They don't play around during the holiday shopping season!
Edit: And no, I didn't pay for any super-mega-rush shipping. Just the regulary $4 standard shipping...
I had a dream last night that I was married and my husband turned into a minotaur. I had to lock him into the bathroom cupboard of our house and then sneak out of our house using several secret passages only I knew about. Then, I had to leave the weird town/community that we lived in because the people running it would have locked me up for being a looney. I escaped with my family (not my real life family) but had to return later for some reason. The entire town's population was gone or had been killed by my husband. Throughout the dream, I felt aware that I wasn't actually the woman but seeing and controlling her actions.
Kinda want to write it down into something. Also, I feel/woke up with a sudden urge to read Borges.

My family was gonna do Christmas shopping tonight but it turns out Mother has a sleep study so we have to wait until the weekend. :(

You know, I know that putting up Christmas decorations can be a pain, but Frank's just being a hateful curmudgeon here. It's not like you even have all that much stuff to put up if you can hold it all at once like that.
'Course, don't know why I'm expecting better from a comic strip that presented the idea of giving out books instead of candy on Halloween as a positive thing. Perhaps Greg Evans is trying to eliminate every last bit of enjoyment from all holidays.

Of course Imi's still 1st though.

Free hugs are the best.
