the mid-80's when the whole fear of rock music nonsense was in full swing
As late as that? Wow.
I wouldn't have guessed.
The church raised a fuss about it for years but it really took off in a silly way in the 80's. Caught up in the fear was, of course, Dungeons and Dragons and other things
If it's still on Youtube, Geraldo had a completely ridiculous fear-mongering special about satanism in the 80s where he called in Ozzy of all people and asked him how he could spread this horrible satanic evil music to children and Ozzy was, well, Ozzy as we all know and love him.
I've finally finished a track I've been spending quite a bit of time on. I'm tempted to release it as a single but I don't know if that's something I should really do.
Doctor Who reference in Pokemon B2W2? Headcanon accepted.
Geraldo's special was pretty much the apex of all that whole satanism scare, and it fell off pretty quickly after that. Everything was suspect: children's toys, especially. I remember sitting in church and hearing the wildest shit about He-Man and Thundercats and even the Smurfs were spreading occult influence on children. Dungeons and Dragons suffered the absolute worst, though, and didn't recover until years later.
Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
As I recall, there was a Satanism scare about Pokémon back when it first came out in America, but it didn't last very long.

Americans as a whole are understandably ignorant about the Telegraph and the Daily Mail (not so much the Sun, it has its own American-based rag minus the knockers page) and every once in a while I see a report from either posted up on FB by a friend with a " I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!" which is actually the best way to go about it

Yeah, the most I remember about it was Uri Geller of all people trying to sue Nintendo over the one spoon-bending pokemon. He was even claiming the yellow five-pointed star on the character's head was literally the same thing as the yellow star Jews had to wear in WWII Germany (Geller is Jewish btw)
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022

I'm about to leave for my Chemistry final. I think this will be the one that gets me. >_<

My favorite part about Foodfight! (which you should watch) is the fact that the main characters are more worried about their brands' iconography becoming less memorable in the face of a generic brand than the fact that said generic brand literally kills people

Irish Brecky, preferably, but any will do. I love Twinings's bag tea though, as profoundly stupid as that may sound.

the daily mail is notable for actively supporting hitler during wwii
they've gotten slightly better since then, but only slightly
This is a gross oversight.
So I'd say yeah. Still, weird that they don't have it, or Big Bang for that matter.
(Just checked, apparently it's not there. Sorry for any confusion, folks.)
and it is now time for workenz.
Bye all.
Weird. They must do it on a case by case basis, then.
