I think when Conservatives say that they are referring to a specific group of people.
eg. my stepfather, who has used unemployment to make him not have to work for the next two years while still getting far more money a month than my mother (who works full time) does, and has also been able to get the federal government to pay for him to go back to school, because he was technically laid off by his company.

Usually unemployment caps out at six months, at least that I know of in California and Texas. If he's going on two years, he knows something that most people don't regarding unemployment.
Also, I'm sure that everyone looks down on milking the system, not just conservatives. There's a few on the far left who think on a 5-year-old's level that everyone should get a paycheck merely for having a pulse but they're the minority.

Yeah, IIRC the specific T Mobile he worked at was found guilty of violating some trade law, so he and everyone else who got laid off from that specific location got a bunch of crazy benefits.
He also figured out that he can still apply for scholarships despite being sent to collage for free. So he's getting free money, too, provided they keep approving the scholarships.

I was reading a thread on SignalTraffic that presented a really neat idea.
For displaying signals in your own collection, grab some regular consumer-grade LED light bulbs and shove them in incandescent signals. They're not as bright as real signal bulbs, but you don't need excessive brightness indoors anyway, but they use much less energy and generate much less heat. And unlike LED modules made for traffic lights, you'd still get to show off the original signal hardware (lenses, reflectors, etc.).

Makes me think of the guy in Nelsonville who painted a big rant about corrupt county officials on the side of a trailer and parked it so it could be seen from the railroad tracks.
They have some tourist trains that run through there in the fall, but the dude's message is so long that you don't really have time to read the whole thing before the train goes on past it.
