I wonder what kind of things would be on display in a museum in the Mushroom Kingdom
  • Is there really much history in the Mushroom Kingdom? Like who founded it and whatnot?
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
Not that I know of. Unless that was covered in a later game I didn't play.

But I need to think of something

It has to be awkward of you're looking for skeletons for the natural history museum in a world where they are often animated and given sentience.

"Yes! This ancient dragon skeleton is perfectly preserved! Wait, what's that sound?"

"Zzz... hmm? Wha? Hey! Don't you know it's rude to wake someone up when they're taking a nap?"

includes fascinating portrayals of casual drug use at house parties, how the author/protagonist had conversations about post-punk while seeing his mate’s band perform at some shitty small venue, internal monologues about consumerism while observing people in a mall and that time when the protagonist had an epiphany about living in the moment while walking in the rain

    BRILLIANT

IT SOUNDS LIKE THE NOVEL OF THE CENTURY
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
I almost wrote one of those once. Thank god I stopped myself

Are there really that many of those kinds of books out there? Granted, I don't exactly go out of my way to look for them.

    AROOOOOOOOOOO

Anyway I hadn't thought of a museum for my game either...It would be in a Mushroom Kingdom space colony on the planet that Equestria is on but still... >_>

I've seen more movies in that vein.

    Hey Fouria! How's your life?
  • ...And even when your hope is gone
move along, move along, just to make it through
    (2015 self)
I need to read a good book.

    Any recommendations?

I've mostly been too busy with uni to worry about much else lately.

    Try reading
    Guards! Guards!
  • My dreams exceed my real life
    The New York Trilogy.
  • Little Brother was good, if a little heavy-handed on the detail side at times.
  • I'd go for the Pevear and Volokhonsky translation
  • 'cause you're my medicine when you're close to me

On Melancholy Hill is a sweet song.
  • Fouria: I've been up and down lately. I think mostly due to stress. The past few weeks have been busy and finals are coming up in about two weeks.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
The Collected Fictions of Jorge Luis Borges

I know the feeling, although I don't have exams coming up.    At least when they're over they'll be over, right?

What are you studying at the moment, if you don't mind my asking?

The Collected Fictions of Jorge Luis Borges

    Seconded.
  • My dreams exceed my real life
I have finals in a week and I've done most of the work on them, so I have more time now to do important things, like discuss the significance of Trapped In The Closet over on IJBM

  • Arm Fall Off Boy: Greatest Superhero
  • Doctor Who reference in Pokemon B2W2? Headcanon accepted.

Uncle Tom's Cabin. (I'm serious about this, btw.)

  • i wish to come up with a song lyric for this signature, but no song lyrics are coming to mind

That's funny, and Harry Partridge is a good animator, but he's done the same joke multiple times.

i haven't seen any of his other stuff, so i wouldn't really know.

...well i am going to have to watch his other stuff now, aren't i
  • Hey nerds if you want to combat fake geek girls how about instead of quizzing them on geek culture or calling them poseur sluts ask them if they have read/watched/played some obscure shit and when they say “no” react with enthusiasm and be all “OMG you have to try it it’s so totally awesome let me recommend you a bunch of stuff” and lend them out a bunch of super nerdy bullshit to the point where they’re inundated with it and they’ll either get into it a lot and really enjoy it or they’ll rethink the whole “if I pretend to be a nerd and like guy stuff cute sensitive nerd boys will like me” thing.

    It’s a win/win.
how about 'just get laid who cares' :>

Apple iFirstNovel sponsored by Starbucks Coffee. to be made into "quirky" "indie" film actually bankrolled by multimillion dollar film company and soundtracks by "indie" bands all signed to EMI and warner.

my first novel will be about horribly broken people probably. write what you know, write what you know, what what

3rded Borges owns and didnt write any silly and self indulgent novels. how anti capitalist of him.

Haven't you heard, EMI is dead now, it got bought up by UMG and Sony/ATV
  • the haus is cold

i would like to sleep but since dinner i have eaten two (2) pains au chocolat and four (4) reasonably sized jam doughnuts so i am running from sugar energy.

it is very gluttonous of me, but my boyfriend is away in scotland for the weekend. a) comfort eating and b) hes not there to tell me off for being unhealthy, its a win/win imo

Writing Lives, which is basically biography, and Textual Interventions which is applied theory.  Plus my dissertation.  All creative writing modules.  Not my strong suit, but on the upside, no exams.

Do you mean in the sense of taking all of those at once, or that they themselves are weird mixes of subjects?

Of course, I probably shouldn't comment on this since my major is vanilla Biology. Not even pre-med.
