Doctor Who reference in Pokemon B2W2? Headcanon accepted.
Yeah, but you know anime when you see it. You also know whenever it's American or European stuff apeing anime and looks like total trash for it (Totally Spies, Ben Ten, Wakfu.) I think one of the reasons MLP is doing so well is because it doesn't try to ape anything when it comes to its design and style and animation, it just takes what's appealing from classic American and anime and goes from there.
Also a show like MLP will really vindicate itself if it kills off horrible soulless shit like this:
Whenever I visited Mom's and my niece was still little she'd be watching this horrible shit. Come to think of it, having to deal with this kind of thing for years is probably another reason why MLP is doing so well.
It is one of the only things I still like from the old Nick Jr., and its animation is at times on the level of '80s Sunbow cartoons
Not sure what you'd think of the character designs, though
(I say this because the first picture is of Franklin, which, like Little Bear, was a Nelvana show)
John K brought up that show a while back. Nelvana, isn't it? It's just more horrifying shit like what I posted above.
Thank God for Youtube and all those old funny cartoons they tried to hide away from us can be seen again, and animators can learn from them. What' I'm afraid will happen, though, is what occurred with the likes of Ren And Stimpy and later on, Spongebob. Both of these shows were huge hits that redefined how cartoons were for a long time, but in a bad way (not saying R+S was bad, mind you.) It's that when these shows hit big, instead of everyone else actually looking into why they were a success, they just wholesale copied them to cash in. I think that's what's going to happen with MLP too, you're gonna see other 80's IPs pop up in some new flash cartoon artstyle all over the place.
Honestly I found most Ren & Stimply clones significantly better than Ren & Stimpy.
Nostalgia may factor into it (I was allowed to watch Cow & Chicken as a child, but not R&S), but I dunno. The cartoon just doesn't strike me as terribly uh, funny.
Also I kind of hate John Krickyfucky, but you all know this already.

I'm not sure how mainstream MLP:FIM is, though to my non-credit my Strawberry Shortcake reboot looks similar to it in my head.
MLP:FIM wasn't even the first show to streamline the art style of an '80s girls' property; the 2007 version of Care Bears did that before them. Unfortunately the new version of that pitched out the 2007 designs and replaced them with the originals
^I enjoy both R&S and C&C, and am one of three people on the face of the earth who likes the latter
I'm thinking of writing a story about a clumsy worker at a factory that produces plot devices for crappy fiction, and she accidentally drops one, trigging the "American cousin" plot device. The rest of the story is spent trying to get rid of her, whilst other plot devices keep getting triggered. The story has no fourth wall as the characters are aware that they are in a novel, and I have a blatant self insert who is writing the story within the story.

go for it, if it sounds like fun for you to write, do it

One of the things I like about MLP G4: It shows that toyetic cartoons can actually be pretty good when you bring in a creator (like Lauren Faust) and give them a decent amount of creative control instead of just having some executives try to sell toys (e.g., MLP G3).
I can't help but think that before too long we'll see the copycats who think it's all about the clean vector art style and not about the worldbuilding or writing that goes behind it. Because let's face it, while G4's visuals are a massive part of its draw (such expressive characters!) if the writing was as inane as G3 nobody would care.
...there was a second part to this post but I forgot it because I got distracted looking at a traffic light

The worldbuilding is why I want to reboot Strawberry Shortcake
Come the fuck on, it's set in a world made of desserts and fruits, how can it have been so LAME for so long

Also Stormy has a red collar now. Red collars are cool.
Sent of Uni application form, done some homework, and managed to talk to people at the tuck shop and ask about Biology to confirm my teacher isn't here. Which is awesome!

(also don't bite books. They're neither delicious nor a good source of nutrition)
THINGS I LEARNED TODAY:
R. Kelly is illiterate. DMX did not know what Google was until it was demonstrated to him on live television. He proceeded to bark at it. Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker, The Joker) is Skips on regular show.

Ben Ten was actually something I enjoyed. But not because of the art.
also the best kids show I've seen in the past....eh, five six years? Is probably The Upside-Down Show.
Also I'm listening to a guy who reminds some kind of cross between fun. and Eminem.
CA, I don't even drive. >_>
But if you want my uninformed opinion, I think these are really cool, as a matter of fact. Simulating traffic signals as gif images was a clever idea.
so currently a spambot called SNOGNOLLA has basically taken over OddFutureTalk.com
scroll down for pure fuckin' gold

I liked Cow and Chicken as a kid, although my brother was more into it than I was.
Guys, question.

BEST DAY EVER (at least, the best day in a while)

*hugs everyone*
I'm so happy, I will ignore the teethmarks in my Biology textbook and the tooth ache.
I bite my textbooks when I am frustrated at something.
