It was so weird... I thought it was time to get up, and switched my bedside light on and sat up in bed. I had control over that, I was in a trance like state... I snapped out of it when I saw the time on my iPod, which was 1:30am. Now I'm too scared to sleep.
I think I was in this trance for a while... Can't remember what I did, but it's lucky I checked my iPod, which in part of my daily routine. If I hadn't have checked it...
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
I stayed up about an hour later than I should have this morning...but this turned out to be a good thing.
You see, I went to double-check my alarm to see how much time I had left (Android's app helpfully says things like "the alarm is set for 5 hours and 34 minutes from now", etc.)...only to find the alarm wasn't turned on at all! If I had gone to sleep when I should have, I would have missed class...
The greatest "would have been" of history. Oh, thou mighty empire, with riches and culture far beyond the squalor that surrounds you. Your law made a peasant the equal of a prince, gave property and inheritance to women, and was the first law to call for evidence, witnesses, and checking for false accusations. Also, your punishments, rather than blood feuds, were constrained to fines. Your peasants were literate, and your capital had a sewage system. The library of Kiev was a sister library to Alexandria's more famous library, and continued the work of collecting as many rare books as possible. Yes, you had slaves, but so did proud Rome, wise Greece, brilliant Persia, mighty Egypt of antiquity, magnificent China, and the diverse Arabian caliphates.
And then, the Mongols came, and the streets flowed red with blood while the rivers ran black with ink. Your civilization was never the same. Your peasants lost their rights one by one, your rulers split the land in futile disputes, your mostly classless society became restricting and stratified, your trade routes were abandoned, and your literature and fine arts were forgotten.

Don't think so.
All I remember outside of Trembley's actions was that Ben Franklin's actually a woman (which explains...not a lot, to be honest)

Her stuff's served as my computer backgrounds for the last two years or so.
There is nothing I do not like about her.
