This is my first trip over. I've had friends over there for years but I've never really cared to go. I really don't care for traveling but I figured I need to go now while the going is good.
I bought my plane ticket back in August and even that early, waiting a few hours to purchase the ticket cost me an extra $400. Round trip for the plane alone was $1400. The hotel isn't so bad, getting one that early cost only $50 a night -- of course, there's some real fleabag dives you can stay at there for $35 a night. I could have stayed at some friends' houses there but I'm the type that I don't want to burden anyone.
Oh, and those old consoles are awesome. We actually had an Odyssey2 once upon a time! Same with the ColecoVision (we actually went all the way and got an ADAM), and that nice Commodore monitor with the two input jacks on the front (which we got sometime in the 1990s from a junk-dealer friend of my brother's).

those old monitors were pretty decent for the time. However I was so lucky lately I found a 20" sony Wega, the model with the component inputs and nothing CRT really comes close to that aside from a component-ready arcade monitor

Speaking of which, I think we may be the only household in the world (or, at least, the only one around this neighborhood) with that rarest of birds: A CRT HDTV. That can happily do 1080i component. Yeah.

AU: Apparently Philips made one at one point, someone bought it, and we got it after they decided it was done for. My brother fixed it and it's been working fine ever since.

One of the things about my home theater setup in this little house was the entire setup (TV, home theater receiver, speakers, everything) cost me less than $220

I think this book [Fahrenheit 451] was a very confusing book. I think it was a good level for my class but like said it was confusing. I liked the idea of not having books in this society. it owuld be great because you would never have to read.

I could save for it and buy it myself, or I could ask to get it with the rest of my birthday money. Problem is, the quicker option is also the one that'll make my parents mad at me faster.
