Doctor Who reference in Pokemon B2W2? Headcanon accepted.
Wow, Chick has been putting out about a new tract a month. For a guy who fought in World War II, he's keeping really busy. The only other WWII veteran I know of that's still busy with his trade is Sir Christopher Lee.
Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
I successfully registered for classes today. It's going to be interesting having my school day start at 8:00 and end at 10:15 three times a week.

that's the only way to do it man
college students are lazy and crowd out the afternoon classes so they can sleep in, by the time you're done with your day everyone else is waking up to start theirs. Then you have the rest of the day to do whatever you need to

I failed to mention that the other two days start at 11:30 and end whenever lab ends. I'll probably end up getting myself on campus around 9:30 or 10:30, though. That gives me time to do things.
I disliked both of the afternoon lecture classes I've had, though admittedly not just because of the time. And even if I wanted all afternoon classes, all the science lectures at my school are in the morning. As such, I've gotten myself in a nice routine of "first class starts somewhere between 8 and 10 every day, last class ends sometime between 11 and 1 whenever I don't have a lab."
Cutting off their daughter's financial security because she voted differently than they did, and then being a smug asshole about it?
I can't say I agree there.
Now, more people should make their own way through college, certainly, but that is entirely the wrong reason to make them.
Well, it's obvious that he raised her with a certain set of values which she went back on (as was her choice) and he stopped funding her college education (as was his choice.) I agree that doesn't sound very fair but it did give her a rather harsh but necessary lesson that American youths don't seem to receive anymore: Actions have consequences and consequences must be paid. If she did this with the knowledge of what would result, good on her for following her conscience. If not, welcome to the real world sweetheart, it gets even less fair from here on out.
That's making about a dozen assumptions, both about the girl and her father, that we can't really make here.
Mostly, there is no indication here that the girl was, you know, lazy. I know it's probably a shock that not everyone who decides to vote liberal is a professional ass-sitter, but there you go.
This has nothing to do with "fairness", it's plain and simple douchebaggery, there is no justification here.
Also, incredibly sick of "entitlement" talk in general.
Expecting a decent life for yourself is not entitlement. We don't live in the 1850s and we don't live in mid-Africa. I feel your average American should be able to expect more out of life than working a dead-end job by now.
Does one have to work at that? Yes. But I don't think anyone genuinely expects to have these things handed to them on a plate, if anyone does, I've never met such a person. Actually I take that back, I have, they're the children of millionaires, and I don't think that's really what we're talking about here.

That probably would have come as a terrible shock except "laziness" was never brought up by the smug dad who wrote that or me. And I don't appreciate you insinuating that I blanket label a group of people for any reason.
Also, there's no assumptions being made here. Daughter went and voted against whatever values or whatever her flow of money had. Flow of money stopped as a result. She probably knew this and did so anyway. Action -> consequence. Nothing to do with assumption.

Yeah, there is. She made a choice, which she was free to do, and that resulted in the dad making a choice -- which he was free to do. Like I said, maybe she did this regardless. Maybe she didn't. That's the only assumption going on here.

Then perhaps you shouldn't do that, if you don't want me to insinuate such things.

This does not even sort of justify what the man did. I'm not sure how you're expecting me to think it does.

Okay, please point out where I employ negative, broad generalizations on people. Take your time, I'll wait. I can't remember where I did this and I'm ready to stand corrected.
Also just because actions have consequences, doesn't mean that small actions have to have large consequences. I mean, just because voted for Obama, her dad cut off all her college funds.

Dude, you do this all the time.
You are constantly talking about (just off the top of my head) marines, other branches of the armed forces, liberals, conservatives, cartoonists, Minecraft fans, and so on as if they're hiveminds. This isn't something that just you do--not by a long shot, it seems to be a favorite pastime of the internet--but you do do it. Said generalizations are not always negative, but making them at all is kind of a bad idea.
Now, the alternative is that I've just misunderstood you, which is always possible. But, in that case, you should probably try to be clearer.

Kexruct, we actually have no idea for who or how she voted or what her dad's political leanings are.

This is actually true, but I have to say it's really just as bad if it's a Democrat dad cutting off the funds of a Republican daughter. It's just switching around which side's the douchebag here.

No, I do not. While I'm here I marshal my words very carefully. On that, I've never said anything about Minecraft other than I'm sick of other people talking about in incessantly (which nobody does here.) I've never said anything derogatory about the other branches of the Armed Forces -- interservice rivalry nonwithstanding, and I've always used a language that soldiers, airmen, and sailors would understand as not being hostile or critical at all. I've been critical of liberal policy but I've never made a blanket statement to the degree that they're all lazy or idiots. I also don't like Reddit. I'm not alone on that, mind you.
But feel free to dig through my post history to find where I did any of this. Like I said, I will gladly stand corrected on any of these, but I will not be accused of them when I know I didn't do so.
It was a place were arguments happened sometimes. Most of the time it was pretty okay, but like I said TV Tropes is a very diverse forum. Arguments were bound to happen somewhere.

Also goons and hipsters.
And and copy pasting from stormfront was probably something that happened once and people just assumed that it happened more than that.
