Whoa, I just noticed something in that picture that I had forgotten existed when I took it.
(The doghouse signal on the left means westbound SR 16 had protected-permissive left turns at the time; nowadays it's protected-only.)
I am obsessed with Miramax and possibly its founders now. The fact that Disney ever owned Miramax is strange to me; for most of the time they did it had more autonomy from the company's management than any other division of the company (though Disney did tell Miramax not to release Kids, Dogma, and Fahrenheit 9/11, though the rights to Kids appear to have reverted to Miramax) and most of its offerings were rather inconsistent with Disney's brand or even Touchstone's...

I keep seeing Romney supporters saying that he got the popular vote and Obama got the electoral vote

At the point when the major networks called it an Obama victory, the votes that had been counted so far showed Romney in the lead for the popular vote
But I guess some people didn't bother to watch past that and realize that changed
When the networks called the race for Obama on election night, Romney was still, barely, leading in the popular vote, but a lot of urban and suburban counties hadn't been counted yet.

^I thought he was pretty successful...
No Fahrenheit 9/11 but Kill Bill?
Weird.
Kill Bill didn't make it look like Disney was making a political statement, did it?

...Why is the Republican Party called the "Grand Old Party" when the Democratic Party predates it by several decades?

The Democratic Party doesn't seem to have much of an image to begin with...
i wish to come up with a song lyric for this signature, but no song lyrics are coming to mind
The Republican Party started in the 1850's, formed from a split in the Democratic party, whose members, primarily abolitionists, felt the Democrats were no longer representing their interests. They decided to call themselves Republicans because they felt their ideals were very similar to Jefferson's Democratic-Republican party. After the Civil War, the upstart Republicans were perceived as the party that won the war. Now firmly entrenched in the federal government, they were ironically dubbed the "Gallant Old Party," which soon became the "Grand Old Party," which was soon shortened to the familiar acronym "GOP."
man, i didn't know they had hipsters in the 1850's
Doctor Who reference in Pokemon B2W2? Headcanon accepted.
I'm not too upset about the loss. I personally think that Romney would have done a better job restarting our economy but on the whole Obama's not that terrible. Benghazi still has me pretty upset, though.
Also there's the fact that we dodged two bullets with both Kerry and Gore. I don't care how much hate people have for Bush, Kerry's a slimeball to such a degree that his own troops from Vietnam -- one of them a Medal of Honor recipient -- made a commercial saying what a slimeball he is. Gore, well, he'd be Clinton 2.0 without any of the charisma or appeal and Clinton was largely an ineffectual idiot. Hillary in a leadership position is a terrifying thought but nobody can ever say that she doesn't get her part of the job done. In comparison to those three, Obama's pretty damn stellar.
Also I have a few fellow Marines who've been stationed in and around the White House and they say that on the level, Obama and his entire family treats the troops great -- as well as Reagan treated the troops there. That goes an incredibly long way with me.
The GOP is better at maintaining the image it wants.
There's that, and one other thing the GOP does better than the Democrats: they put down their smaller self-interests to achieve a greater goal. The Democrats cannot do this at all because they're the umbrella party for the widest variety of special interests and none of them speak a common language -- unlike the GOP, where their dialect is $. Case in point: When Obama was elected, this was the first time the Democrats held as much power since Clinton first stepped into office, and before that Carter. And just like Carter's and Clinton's hold on power, absolutely nothing was achieved because before Obama even stepped into the Oval office they fell apart fighting over their petty self-interests and for those two years nothing happened. And true to form, they cast the blame on not themselves, but Obama. I still remember two years ago the same people who campaigned for Obama were calling him "worse than Bush" because him becoming president didn't magically fix everything.
Spike Lee predicted this a long time ago, and he was right.

At some point I will re-make this with the proper fonts.

I was about to go to bed, and I realized I didn't have my wallet with me. I grumbled some and put my clothes back on, went out to the car to look for it...still no wallet. So I turn on my flashlight and look around to see if I'd dropped it, and there it was, sitting on the sidewalk, right where someone could have swiped it easily if this neighborhood wasn't completely dead on Saturday night.
I have the wallet inside with me now, and that means I can finally go to bed. Good night!

It manages to take real computer hacking terms and apply them to a colorful, retro, wireframe puzzle game interface that has nothing at all to do with real hacking, yet still make it sound somewhat convincing.
