Sweet!
My last Chemistry lesson was with a substitute instructor who seemed to think he was teaching a high school class...admonishing people for coming in 5 or 10 minutes late, making sure we all wrote down the example problems even when they're basic arithmetic we can do in our heads...it was a pain.

This is after the fact but still worth a view. Its about how screwed up California's university education system has become:
I think it goes without saying that I love comics too, but the only place they have in a university curriculum is niche at best.
Low academic rigor, boutique courses about pop culture, screwed-up administration, low graduation rates and rising costs funded by taxpayers...sounds like the University of TV Tropes! :O Just switch "taxpayers"with "Google" and there you are.
I looked at some of the other ACTA videos, and while I think it's okay for schools to do well in certain things past the 100-level classes (engineering, business, medicine, etc.), you still should know the basics about how your society works and how to manage money, because you'll be utterly lost without them. I remember cringing at the "core curriculum" requirement at Tech in 1995, and now I wish I could do it over.
As for Whittle's other stuff, I'm probably not going to agree with him on other things, but I do agree with him on this issue.

The only reason I really care about school right now is that I'm literally like a month away from my Associate's degree
I figure it's worth suffering the last few weeks because throwing my hands up and walking out at this point would be foolish

I want to try to get into a decent university next fall, but I have no idea what I want to study

Civil engineering, I think.
...but I wonder if that's a good field for me because math is not my passion. >_>

How tired I am: I had to stare at these two pictures for a full minute to be able to tell if I had taken pictures of two similar signs, or taken a picture of the same sign twice:

Is it bad that I get irritated when I see cops pulling people over?
There's an intersection I pass on the way to school. Every evening as I'm heading into downtown, there's at least one cop--sometimes two--who pulled over someone heading out of downtown, presumably running the red light. It just pisses me off...does the city need money that desperately that you have to go and harass people who are just trying to get home for the evening?
This is about my feelings on the matter, as well. Pulling random people over for minor infraction to grease the wheels of the Police system seems pretty despicable to me.
I wonder what kind of bubble people like Robertson must live in. Indeed, if it were someone that wasn't a famous evangelist saying that the gays and the liberals were out to get him and hiding around every corner, they'd get the Risperdal and/or Xanax out quick.

Greetings.
I just awoke from a dream where I bought a pet lizard.
I'm not sure what kind of lizard it was but it kind of looked like a tiny ankylosaurus.

Not quite, this guy was a lot more overtly spiky.
Also why is it called a bearded dragon if it has no beard.
So, coming soon from Facepalm Studios is The Picture Of Dorian Gray 2: Merton's revenge!

Tal Leming should have thought of this, it is the only thing that could possibly have made Burbank better.
