You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
The people in favor of them claim it's to prevent voting fraud. I and others think it's mostly meant to disenfranchise minorities who are less likely to have a driver's license or the money to afford a Walker's ID (which are $30 at cheapest).
Personally I think both sides of the issue are going overboard. I don't think that there's any solid proof of voter fraud really going on and at the same time I don't see the problem with requiring an ID to vote. The most common and really only ground that those opposing voter ID laws have is "it disenfranchises the poor/minorities/etc." "Disenfranchisement" is one hell of a nebulous term that they rarely go into details about -- how are these people "disenfranchised"? Well, they say IDs are too hard or expensive to come by. That's a complete load of bullshit. If you're a legal voter, it does not require rocket science or rich enough to own Boardwalk to obtain one. I've lived in California, Tennessee, New Mexico and Texas and had a driver's license for each one, including a commercial driver's license from Cali. Can it be a tedious process? Yes, but tedious and difficult are not interchangeable terms.
Doctor Who reference in Pokemon B2W2? Headcanon accepted.
Marines have landed in New Jersey. To help out with the hurricane relief, that is. Not for the other reasons we thought they'd be called to land on New Jersey

Part of it is some piss-poor communication. I know a lot of people who are under the impression that the "requiring two forms of ID" thing is still in effect, and earlier today I actually thought I wasn't going to be able to vote until I found out that "valid forms of ID" includes things like bank statements and bills to your house.
Making this worse is that polling people can ask for photo ID. They can't turn you away if you don't have it, legally speaking, but that they can ask regardless just seems fishy to me.
The problem is that communication on the subject has been nonexistent, that's what "disenfranchisement" is here. Because if it's not deliberate, it certainly seems like it is.
i think it says something about those "beautiful pictures + text" on tumblr that there is no way to parody them effectively without invoking poe's law.

Oh, so that's what this is. You know it's stuff like this that makes it difficult to appreciate poetry anymore
he's this dubstep musician that makes songs that all have an uncanny resemblance to various songs by other artists and/or sound suspiciously like they contain uncredited samples from tracks by certain lesser known producers.
Sounds a lot better than the current state of the underground hip-hop scene.
I like Raider Klvn and all, but at some point, you go from "rapping over obscure instrumentals" which is fine, to "rapping over obscure instrumentals without crediting them" which is less fine, to "trying to retroactively assert yourself over a track that was made in 1999, and then putting 1999 in your album's title", which is just retarded.

Do major artists actually do this on a regular basis (and not just as a shout-out to all their pals)? I'm curious because I remember some years ago some rapper getting into trouble because he included the entire THX intro onto his CD. In fact I can't think of one rapper who doesn't wholesale appropriate from everything else
It's not like the former's a bad song. And it's certainly audibly distinct from 900 Number, but you need to cite your sources. It's like writing a research paper.

Do I need to list every rap group with a live backing band or original producer.
Don't make me do it Corporal.
I know as much about rap as a redditor does about fornicating, which means everything I've heard is super mainstream stuff where sampling everything else is the norm
Funny thing is that sampling isn't the mainstream in hip-hop anymore.
The only current mainstream producer who really samples often is Kanye West, and sometimes Boi-1da will do it too, but most often nowadays you get what are called "trap beats".

ugh
I tried reading a book today and I just... couldn't, for some reason.

There's also a huge difference between sampling (which is fine) and sampling and claiming you didn't sample.
For instance, Mac Miller's fans like to try to claim that Party on 5th Ave. doesn't sample 45 King's 900 Number.

They sound a bit like this.
Technically there is a sample in there, but it's an "in-house" sample (that guy saying "A Mili") rather than something from another song.
best rock song of the year? probably
