And oh wow, a VW ad where there promise to make your car payments if you get laid off. Sounds eeerily familiar. :P
CHICKEN TONIGHT!!!!!!
And an FTD ad with Merlin "Yes, I was the butler in Mitchell" Olsen in it. Hehehehehe.
Finally, as an indication of the anticipated target audience: An ad for classic slow jams from the 1950s and 1960s. So you figure...teenagers in the late 1950s or early 1960s, by 1992 they'd be well into middle age.
I just wish I had more stuff from 1987-1992, full stop. Our VCR didn't work for many of those years (mainly because my brother and I kept breaking it), and by the time Brother #2 knew enough about electronics to fix them himself, it was 1990 and we'd missed a lot of good stuff.
Bwahaha, an ad for a sneak preview of Beethoven. And some silicone lint roller thingy that might work until it stops being sticky; the Wacky Wallwalker had the same problem.
YAY, an ad for National Geographic Explorer on TBS. And it has the 1980s logo (less the SuperStation style) on it.
I dunno, it just seemed incongruous, given all the strait-laced ads for things like...laundry detergent. And life insurance. And things I guess old people liked in 1992.
Anyway, I'm stopping the tape for now since I need to sleep. Good night!
AU: I actually feel a bit guilty about celebrating Hollywood like this, since they've shown time and again that they're not only in it for the money, but would happily make television and the Internet go away and bring back block-booking if they could. Yes, television, still, after over 60 years. :P
I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
I thought that Hollywood was pretty alright with TV (as all of the "Big Six" have long television histories.), but I know that big media as a whole is scared to death of the Internet.
On #yackfest: Me and CA were on the receiving end of an "intervention", as apparently we had a habit of hogging the channel. Saying anymore risks importing drama, even though the situation is over.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
Greetings. I bring you photos from the magical land of WAL-MART.
This store is on Taylor Road Extension, opened in 1999, and was remodeled in 2010.

It seems that same look is being given to all new and remodeled Wal-Marts now.

I just got back from hanging out with him. He helped me move a little furniture, and I bought him a beer; we talked about nerdiness and got slightly drunk.

I remember when USA went from the star logo to their modified Studios USA logo. Upset me at the time (I was about four or five).
...but I can't be bothered to try to obtain and watch them.
Also, I remember being astonished at how long it took National Geographic to move National Geographic Explorer to their own channel.
YOU CANNOT DO THAT.

So I guess I'm not helping Hollywood any...
@Imipolex: It's called "it was funny at 3AM"

A "Grocery" sign over the frozen foods section.
The dairy area.
And a look back toward the grocery section.
