    Nah, that makes sense.

CA: The logo is nice-looking, if a little cutesy, but what grabs me is the amount of food-bashing in the comments: Practically none. There's just one person bashing the food, and someone told him off quickly.

I hadn't thought about that, but it does stand out to me now. I guess they like Wendy's!

The one thing that does irritate me about the comments is the number of people remarking on the erroneously-colored apostrophe. Partly because it's obviously a mistake in this specific rendering and doesn't represent the branding as a whole, but mainly because it's been brought up so many times that it's apparent that a significant number of these people didn't bother to read the comments before they posted.
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
    Hmm...

Is it more a fascistic lineage in pessimism or a pessimistic lineage in fascism? Consider the misanthropy implicit in Latin conservatism and the death culture in many ultra-nationalist ideologies.

Also: I find it interesting that a little over a year after they parted ways, Wendy's goes and does a pretty nice rebrand while Arby's descends further into Uglysville. Coincidence?

    Could go either way, honestly.

I wonder...would Tumblr get mad at me if I URL-squatted "central-avenue" for two or three weeks?

Because I kinda want to change to "nightmare-on-central-avenue" for halloween, but I don't want to risk losing my main URL...
  • I wonder if it would be a good idea to LP Runescape.

  • I'm url-squatting "trespeak" and basically so is everyone else who changed their URL so I don't think anyone really cares.
  • I seriously hope I actually just downloaded Sony Vegas and not the eight billion other things the installer "helpfully" "offered" to install.

    Fucking pre-checked boxes.

  • Urgh. Why do I always have to second guess myself with this kind of thing.

Probably because I have no idea how to LP.

    Acquire either A)

    *A screen recorder
    *A microphone

    or B)

*Screencap the shit out of everything.

The former's probably easier for something like Runescape.

The realm of pessimistic philosophy is a strange one to visit for so many reasons.

That's what I was going to do, and it was part of the reason I was nervous about doing it. That, and, well, it's Runescape.

You don't like the old Arby's logo, do you?

(...what does that have to do with the post you quoted?)

I don't dislike the old Arby's logo, but I didn't especially like it, either. I certainly prefer it to the new one.

^^Crap, quoted the wrong one on accident
  • Why is Photobucket lagging so much.

  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
I find it weird when people say "on accident" instead of "by accident." Not that it's grammatically incorrect—I don't think it actually is—but that it just sounds strange to me.

    ^ Same here.

I wonder if it's a regional thing. Most kids I knew growing up said "on accident", but I picked up "by accident" from my mother, who grew up in California...
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
Everyone around here says "by accident."

    Where are you, Anonus?

I seem to have developed an obsession with CWC.

I'm less embarrassed that this has happened and more embarrassed that it's happened 2 years after CWC ceased to be relevant.

    ^^Colorado.
  • “I'm surprised. Those clothes… but, aren't you…?”
Aha. I had forgotten. Thank you for obliging me.

People in parts of the South use "on accident" as well. Perhaps I could trace this linguistically if my information were more complete. They might come from different parts of the British Isles originally.

    i feel weird

i've only eaten one meal today but eating a second one would require a trip to the store and I'm laaaaazy
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
I've always thought of "on accident" as being uneducated hick-speak. Sorry if that offends anybody

Also, CWC was ever relevant? Sorry if that offends anybody
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
well, a while ago, he was

Perhaps "active" is a better word than "relevant".

The point is, for the past year or so he hasn't done anything funny (unless getting arrested for assualt is funny) and nobody cares about him anymore, except me apparently.

I'm not going to defend the actions (direct and indirect) that led up to that sideshow but people have tried to point out to CWC that he's doing it wrong and he has without fail refused to heed that advice.

    Tumblr is great that way.
  • THIS MACHINE KILLS FASCISTS
Southern hicks are one thing, upper Midwestern hicks (like the ones Da Yoopers and MST3k imitated all the time) are quite another (and funnier, at least to me, but then that's probably because I'm from Virginia and I'm very used to the Southern type).

I did just finish responding to Ming the Merciless back there

I know I shouldn't but I think that xkcd comic about "someone's wrong on the internet" sums it up really well

To clarify, by "care about CWC" I don't mean, like, sympathizing with him or anything. I mean I'm one of few people who still finds morbid curiosity in the whole trainwreck, while most people seem to have moved on.
