So for at least two years now, the intersection at the entrance to my uncle's neighborhood has had the poles/mast arms for a traffic light installation, but no actual traffic lights installed.

It looks like at some point they had intended to expand the 3-way intersection to a 4-way intersection and install traffic signals, but for whatever reason this never came to be.
...Did I ever tell you about the modern-day "ghost suburbs" (as I call them) of Newnan, Georgia?

Basically, back in the 2000s, Newnan was thriving with all sorts of new upscale residential development. Work was already ongoing on new subdivisions: areas were cleared, utility lines were run to where houses were to be built, and in some cases streets were even paved.
Then the housing market crashed. And it was all just left there. Some of the streets were hastily blocked off with chain-link fences. Others were left open as short stubs. At least one would-be subdivision was left with construction equipment (a bulldozer, I think it was) just sitting there to rust.
My family's friend drove us through there when we were staying in the area back in July. It's very surreal, and a bit sad.

The saddest part to me--and I know I'm inviting jokes with this--was that one of the fenced-off streets had already been given a name. August Avenue, posted there on the corner, with a stop sign that nobody will stop at for years to come.

In 2011, ABC Inc owner Anonus traveled to Australia in an attempt to sell the Lifetime Movie Network to a gay man with braces. Unfortunately, Anonus was arrested shortly after arriving on Australian soil for making too many kangaroo jokes.
He was later released after he apologized, saying "any country with the balls to arrest an American media mogul can't be that bad. Also Kangaroos."

I thought it might be. No one who works retail has Black Friday off unless they have a seriously GOOD excuse. I have no doubt many managers would can someone on the spot if they missed working the busiest day of the year.

I went to the Meijer in Gahanna earlier because the one nearest the house was out of white Crock-Pots (don't ask). I got some pictures, which I'll post in a little bit once I've finished up more of my schoolwork.

A long time ago (like a year or two, by now) I had a dream where I was in a party supply store and I was picking through some boxes of random toy food. The store was kinda dingy-looking and it was located somewhere that reminds me of the outlet mall at I-71 and (former) US 35.
CA: There's a half-completed housing development north of Manassas on VA 28 that's been in the works for years now. I don't think they even managed to get the site prep done before they ran out of money, and so that entire tract has just been sitting there, undeveloped.

Now I'm thinking about the one sidewalk in my uncle's neighborhood that branches off to nowhere. It was apparently intended to connect to an adjacent subdivision, but that subdivision was never even started.
Also, looking at my uncle's neighborhood on a map, it's surprisingly small. When you're driving up its main street it feels a lot bigger than it apparently is.

I used to love maps, as a kid.
They interest me slightly less now, though they still interest me quite a bit 'cause, you know, they're closely related to my interest in roads.
See, I find that amusing because I never would've given my imaginary countries broadcasting histories. No, mine just had the usual Tolkien-type stuff like elf kingdoms and caves full of hideous creatures etc.

MGM is back in my thoughts. I wonder if CBS still owns the rights to The Hollywood Squares's format, that way we can buy it.
It's strange.

And then I listen to "Black Friday" by Megadeth and it's all good.

The "editing your posts" thread over on the motherboard reminds me how glad I am we don't have the edit stamp here.
:P I thought I told her about that. Oh well, finding out totally at random is good too.
Most of them are highly-rated and quite profitable.
It was rather dark and I think it involved Old Navy.

Its shape and provincial boundaries were never consistent and I never gave it a name.
I think the first network was named "Network One", though.
