Boobs are only a huge taboo-thing in some cultures and that is subtle enough imagery anyway; I certainly did not notice it! Banjo-Tooie managed to sneak in a landmass that is literally shaped like a giant penis and balls, squirting sperm, and it was no big deal! Naw, the issue is that my sister has also expressed interest in playing the game, and, while she's not easily offended, I still feel a bit uncomfortable sending her a level with obvious boobhills. I guess I don't like appearing a perv in front of family members.

years ago I was on IRC and and we had this one dude on the channel that everyone, well, tolerated. This was some anime channel so you're gonna get a few broken people into the mix but this guy took the fucking trophy home every year. One day there was some stupid argument (about anime) with that one specific dude and he got so mad that he announced that he was hopping into his car and driving the 500+ miles to where the other guy lived to settle this face-to-face. Just like that. He knew the town and state where the guy lived... and that's it.
The channel was then divided as to what the outcome would be. On one side, there were the the folks who couldn't believe anyone could be that stupid. The rest were the ones who knew someone could be that stupid. So anyway about 10 hours later the angry dude with issues showed up on IRC, on his laptop, with an IP identifiable from that other dude's town, demanding to know where he lived. The the other dude did the mature thing and told him to fuck off so the guy went off on IRC like you wouldn't believe telling him about how he has friends in the FBI, is bestest buds with Kevin Mitnick (why is it always Mitnick?), just so happens to have a pal in law enforcement there, yadda yadda.

This right here is not only a cry for attention but some sort of fucked-up bargaining chip he throws out there to make people think he's serious about anything but feeling sorry for himself. People who are an actual suicide risk are exactly that. They don't plot some date down the line like it's some kind of road trip.

The last time he was here, he was very much of the mind that the TVT mods were a bunch of assholes (he thought we were power-abusing, oppressive, etc.) and went so far as to say that he didn't trust any moderators or admins, or anyone else in a position of authority.
He asked me what would have to change for him to stand a chance of being allowed back to TVT. I tried to make it clear that I didn't think there was any chance of that, but he said he wanted advice and that he'd be angry if I told him to give up, so I gave him a list of everything he was doing wrong that got him banned from there, and told him what he'd have to do in order to improve himself. He didn't change after that, but I think I got his hopes up.
Yeah, in this case he's acting somewhere between me in my blue period (1996-1998) and Chris-chan. The whining, the ineffectual death threats, the horribly circumscribed places he insists on getting a job at (since he'd rather not work at all)...
It's hard to convince someone to pursue something else when they want it more than joy or sanity.
And I wouldn't want anyone to beat themselves up too much about what tnu is going through, but I think understanding his situation more could be useful. For what, I can't say.

If one gets so bent out of shape by people they've never even met in the real world like this guy does -- and always in reaction to his stupidity -- I don't see how taking in the whole picture of his life will be any more enlightening. The guy is literally raging at words on a screen, and not the "oh fuck you! *closes window, plays solitaire*" like a normal person would.

I remember one time he tried to tell me that I spelled "laser" wrong and it should be "lazer".

From an admin's perspective, I was never sure whether or not to take the bad spelling into account. I didn't want to punish him for it if it was something he legitimately couldn't help, but at the same time it made it hard for anyone to have a coherent conversation with him.
Eventually I realized that even if it was a legitimate problem for him, he made it clear that he'd put no effort into trying to improve his typing anyway.
