" are rap or metal even forms of music? where do you draw the line? rap is some declension of beatnik spoken poetry with a producer's beat behind it, metal is just noise made with what look like musical instruments but you could substitute the grinding of a kitchen waste disposal and it would be all the same "

Even music theory doesn't really define music anymore.
I think the strongest argument I've ever heard for rap not being music is that you can't harmonize in it, and even that is laughable because A) who cares? and B) you totally can.
I used to hate abstract art and not even categorize it as "true art"
then I stopped being 16 years old
The only thing I would hesitate to call art is installation art or whatever they call it nowadays. Even then, not so much me thinking it's not art as me thinking it's not art that means anything.
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022
Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
BUT TOO BAD because joker knew what batman's scret idenity was bruce wayne and came to combat him

So Lee was in my dream this morning.
He took the form of Patrick Star driving a Prius, which had a Virginia plate reading LEE4HMZ.

Hmpf.
Art doesn't have to mean anything. It just has to evoke something in the viewer. And I've seen installation art that can certainly manage that and more.

Why is everyone suddenly being really, really picky about word choice today? "Mean something", "evoke something", you know what I meant.

If I may speak about art in a way that hopefully doesn't make everyone grumpy, I find that the written word and music tend to evoke more of a reaction in me than visual art. I've never quite been able to put my finger on why.
I wonder if I should've taken music history instead of art history. The main reasons I didn't were that the art history classes were better recommended by my friends, and the music history classes always conflict with the labs of the science classes I want.
Wasn't the animation outsourced to Japanese studios, though? (Not saying that makes it anime, but still)
It was outsourced to a bunch of places, the most infamous of those studios being the South Korean AKOM, which is responsible for No-Mouthimus Prime up there.

I have a TracFone.
Yay poor people technology!
(I could actually afford a much better phone if I saved up for one, the problem isn't the phone, it's the plan)
Assassin poems, Poems that shoot
guns. Poems that wrestle cops into alleys
and take their weapons leaving them dead
Won't get out of my head.

True words
for reference
If they have not, I shall make it my life's goal.

I CAN DO DOTS TOO, BUSTER
I admittedly don't know very much about music theory but isn't the entire point of say, avant-garde that it doesn't follow traditional rules of music?
I guess that's not actually music theory come to think of it
Abstract in what sense? Because that can mean like a billion different things. The only thing I would hesitate to call art is installation art or whatever they call it nowadays. Even then, not so much me thinking it's not art as me thinking it's not art that means anything.

Really not carin' too much, gonna be honest.

it's more bewilderment, but yeah.
In fact almost all of my macros are bewilderment.
Anyway, the first Transformers cartoon wasn't an anime. It did get a Japanese dub at one point though.
Some are of bewilderment, others disapproval.

"What's a binary gun?"
"A name I made up for it just now. Cuz there's only room for two bullets, one here, and one here."
"So what's it do?"
"I dunno, it blew up in my face as soon as I opened it."
