I'm trying to process the level of cognitive dissonance required to believe humans are mostly irrational assholes and then get surprised when another human disagrees with an argument they consider rational and is aggressive about it.
just waltz over to reddit, they have that shit in surplus and more
"[Brilliant religious folks] are people I call the faux intelligent. Even dogs can do things that appear extremely bright---how much more the case for a humanoid."
I know you've heard it all before, but something about the attitude of the EDM set makes me think that this time, guitar music really is dead. Three chords and the truth don't stand a chance against the Weapon of Mass Douchestruction.

I have a rule about forums: once they start taking the whole "community" aspect dead serious (as in expecting lock in step loyalty) it's time to leave
Reddit also has a convenient way to silence out whatever upsets their echo chamber, and then pat each other on the back for being super-duper rational thinkers

There is a possibility of going to far in the other direction and feeling more like a collection of solitary predators waiting for a chance to leap at the least sign of weakness than a place to hang out with friends.

North Korea as of now has declared it will execute anyone stealing and exporting minerals from their soil
but they don't have any minerals worth stealing
North Korea hosts sizeable deposits of more than 200 different minerals. Of those mineral resources identified, deposits of coal, iron ore, magnesite, gold ore, zinc ore, copper ore, limestone, molybdenite, and graphite are the largest and all have the potential for the development of large-scale mines. North Korea’s magnesite reserves are the second largest in the world, after China, and its tungsten deposits are likely the sixth-largest in the world.
OpenCola is a brand of cola unique in that the instructions for making it are freely available and modifiable. Anybody can make the drink, and anyone can modify and improve on the recipe as long as they, too, license their recipe under the GNU General Public License. Since recipes are, by themselves, not copyrightable, the legal basis for this is untested.[1]
The original version 1.0 was released on 27 January 2001. Current Version is 1.1.3. Although originally intended as a promotional tool to explain free and open source software, the drink took on a life of its own and 150,000 cans were sold. The Toronto-based company Opencola founded by Grad Conn, Cory Doctorow, and John Henson became better known for the drink than the software it was supposed to promote. Laird Brown, the company's senior strategist, attributes its success to a widespread mistrust of big corporations and the "proprietary nature of almost everything."

The only people they could trade it to would be China and Russia and they're not exactly hurting for coal and mangnesite. North Korea's iron is incredibly thin and poor (and they tried Mao's idea of smelting in the back yard which went over about as well), and whatever source you copy-pasted that from forgot flourite as one of their most abundant minerals. Dunno where they get the idea that North Korea is rich in gold, because it's not gonna be 1869 there any time soon

Gold is highly conductive and useful for high energy wiring. Its also used as a connector for high end electronics.
edit: Alot of countries also store some of their wealth as gold bars
Mmm, ice cream cake. Mom made one, of sorts, for my brother's birthday about a month ago, and while it was a bit non-traditional (more ice cream and less cake), it was still pretty good.

They probably would. I just have this interest in old hardware like that. Currently I'm hunting down old Yamaha/Generic wavetables for soundblaster cards, to which other people are too and the prices are sometimes insane

On the way home from the gyro place we saw a double rainbow, one of which was the brightest, most vivid rainbow I've ever seen.
I tried to get a picture, but by the time I ran in the house to get my camera, they were gone.
This has probably been the most fun I've had on my birthday in years.
Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
Happy birthday, CA! That's pretty cool. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your day too.
I like to imagine the mom is pissed off because she got out of bed, full of concern for her daughter, only to find that her daughter was just using this opportunity to shoehorn her dumb political beliefs into everything

I've seen a few other comics. It kinda looks like the parents have started tuning her out.
Even when she's being attacked by a snake, because she can't be attacked by a snake without making comparisons to North Korea.

...would old video game midis actually be improved by listening to them through some new equipment?
Time to play a game folks, is the following comic Liberal or Conservative?
Was it the baddest f*cking rainbow you've ever seen?
