I still wonder: what is it about nerds and their very specific lack of interest in sports? I know that some nerds like sports, but it seems that generally, nerdy circles care far less about sports compared to the general populace that they are part of.
In general, I say to each their own. But I find sports boring to watch. There are other things that are a lot more interesting to me: books, music, etc.

nerds don't like those sports because those jocks who were such dicks used to like sports so obviously sports are terrible
i dont mind sports. then again most of the sports people at my school thought i was alright because i could run fast and was one of the best keepers in the year, so

Oddly enough, most of the actual jocks and student government types at my high school really liked me, despite being one of the biggest, fish-out-of-water-iest nerds in the Class of '95. It was the preps/bratty rich kids and, shockingly, the other nerds that didn't like me that much.
Remember back in the 50s when they'd record like Elvis singing YOU AIN'T NOTHIN BUT A HOUND DOG and then they'd turn the record over and reverse it and it was all NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP NYERP and people were all like, "That is actually the voice of Satan coming from that song."
I thought dodgeball looked fun back when I was in middle school and high school. And even though I was the one of the first to get knocked out the one time I actually played it, I harbor no resentment toward it.

Also, I'm not a big fan of The Olympics after reading a bit about the stuff cities generally do to prepare for them.
