  • i wish to come up with a song lyric for this signature, but no song lyrics are coming to mind
the answer is no. no they don't.
  • Today was a normal day-- the 16th of September, as normal as they come.

    Key word: was.

But once you crossed the divide, it all changed. You found yourself in familiar territory, but there was something off about it-- something wrong. You had no idea how-- or why-- this was happening, and you wanted out. The only question, and it was a big one, was how to do so.

Everything went to heck after you went through The Inner Tube.

Nah, I don't think The Inner Tube's gonna be noir, it's just the concept makes it so that one universe is a corrupted version of the other one; sort of like a Bad Future but without the time travel aspect.

Also, brb trying to find out how my main character should look. (Except not really cuz I'll be here.)

    you know

    it should be dystopia-y

corrupt governments & conspiracies all about

I want to one day write a kung-fu alternate history conspiracy mystery crime noir set in Jazz Age Shanghai.

Unfortunately, everyone who reads it will not get it because it's written in English.

...wait, that's what i want to write, not necessarily what you want to write.

    you can safely ignore me!

^Jazz Age? That sounds like the coolest thing.

    I'd read it.
  • Hmm. A kid version of Max Payne? Might be cool as one of his clique, although I wanna make sure I'm not repeating myself (bluhbluhStuckbluh) so his name probably wouldn't be Max.

The idea of one of his friends being a noir junkie (who might be a little too obsessed with sounding like a protagonist in one) is pretty cool though.

The rain was comin' down like all the angels in heaven decided to take a piss at the same time. When you're in a situation like mine, you can only think in metaphors.

honestly, i just think max payne's outfit looks cool. that's all there is to it really.

    Tyler Durant
    Daria Eckman
    Erica Schaal
    Sonny Thames
    Jensen Idler
    Izzie Novacek
    Nicky Yeats

...Yeah, Jensen's name is Jensen because I couldn't find a good name that started with Y for him. The pattern still fits their last names though.
  • Okay, Izzie's last name is now Novacek

because the last name Novacek is ridiculously fun to say.

    no-vuh-check
  • Got the 1 month netflix tryout thing.

Watched The Last Airbender with my sister.

She's fun to riff on stuff with.
  • I've actually never seen Last Airbender, which is funny considering how I'm slowly but surely getting into Legend of Korra.
  • You mean the series or the movie?

That movie has some of the most fantastically wooden acting I've ever seen.
  • The series.

I forgot the movie even existed.

  • The movie is a hopeless trainwreck of an adaptation but it is ridiculously fun to laugh at.
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
The movie is horrid. All that Hollywood sheen managed to make it lifeless to me.

The source material is one of the best cartoons of the last decade.
  • If there's one thing I'm good at, it is giving things (especially myself) absolutely ridiculous names.

    I've heard as much.

  • Early on my sister decided that Aang's name was kielbasa.
  • Kielbasa?

Opera actually recognizes that as a word, what is it?

  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
Just so you know, it's not pronounced "ahng", it's pronounced "ayng".
  • A type of sausage, from Poland.
  • Kielbasa?

Polish sausage. Goes well with macaroni and cheese.
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
    ^^Why is that?
  • So apparently there is exactly one commercial cartoon that is still drawn entirely by hand, it's called Sazae-chan, and despite being a Japanese cartoon the art style is more reminiscent of Peanuts than anything.

  • I fear that I might have done something unspeakable and I have no idea if I have or not.

Ah, what am I doing? I'm doing that thing where I only reveal part of a situation that I'm having to attract attention. Please, ignore what I said earlier.
  • I'm doing that thing where I only reveal part of a situation that I'm having to attract attention.
I hate it when I do that.

    Into the trees

    We'll lay on the grass

    And let the hours pass

    Take my hand

    Come back to the land

    Let's get away

    Just for one day

    Let me see you

I'd read that in a heartbeat. That concept is like...perfect. It's everything I want to read.

    New cover art.

Don't ask me when the EP'll be out because I don't know. It will be when it will be.
  • GOOD JOB, TRE

    :P

    it's pretty alright though.

  • Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
    Y'all are too kind.

I guess I should read and study more wuxia novels first, though.
  • wuxia novels

    This is a thing?
    This is a thing.
    This is a thing!
  • Man is a most complex simple creature: see what he weaves, and how base his reasons for doing so.
Of course it's a thing. You think Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was an original screenplay? It was an adaption of an already-famous (in China) wuxia novel.

That said, finding translations of any Chinese text that isn't The Little Red Book, Journey To The West, Romance Of The Three Kingdoms, Water Margin, or The Art Of War is an absolute bitch.

I'll be honest, Tre. That isn't very appealing.

    Sorry.

It's probably not final or anything either, just some stupid idea I came up with, I dunno.

No reason to be sorry. I'm just saying that you may want to consider revising it, which you might have been planning on doing anyway.

  • I think if it's going to be a text cover there should probably not be a picture in the back.

    But, what do I know.
