The second part of the series doesn't quite live up to the magic that the first part does, but it's still a good show all around.
Also rumors are going around that Toonami's going to pick up Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt. I'm not sure a sex comedy is exactly a good fit for the block, but I might watch it anyway, just cuz...y'know, Toonami.

I also disagree. Even putting aside the religious references, Evangelion does have a lot of depth, especially in a "deconstruction of Mecha" sense.
A basic description of Eva makes it sound like your basic mecha, dig just a little deeper, and we find our 14 year old protagonist has some serious issues about being left by his father after his mother died. His father left because his work was more important and there's no "tearful reunion" Gendo is a world class asshole who put his work ahead of his child.
Asuka's confidence is basically just to mask she's a psychological mess, much of the rest of the cast isn't exactly playing with a full deck either either directly or indirectly related to their super secret program that's likely claimed someone close to them.
Honestly, there simply is more depth to Eva than your average anime. Of course that doesn't grantee it's "better", but it's something for fans to hang their hat on over the odd religious reference or convoluted plot point.
The movie, is sort of past the point of "deconstruction" and I'm really not quite sure WHAT was the underlying point of it.
Hence, why the show's ending works better for me. The movie serves as a nice set-up, and the ending to the show at least is something that makes me feel the whole thing was leading up to something of a point.
I've heard that Rebuild of Evangelion is pretty much better than the original show in every way, but again, I've seen neither.
It depends. I think, technically speaking, Rebuild has less of the flaws that the original series has and the cast is much more emotionally stable. I do prefer the original series though.

Eh, I wouldn't say "EVERY" way. The short nature of it makes it a tad closer to an actual mecha anime, so it's sacrificing depth for ease of understanding.
It's prettier and many of the characters are more likable, Rei arguably is much better developed, not that the bar was very high...
The ending to the second movie is just mind-blowingly awesome, like...they decided "FUCK IT! We've decided we're writing for TTGL now!"
Also, Mari's kinda cool.
Asuka is also of far less importance, I'm 0K with this.

I kept wanting to bring up PSG but I was worried that it would make me seem unintelligent.
Also, I keep thinking about a potential Toonami/Adult Swim channel, but I wonder how the Toonami brand could be extended beyond action-adventure and anime. Is that even possible? (I remember back in '02 when they put on Hamtaro for shits and giggles, I presume.)
It sucked and eventually turned into CN Too, a half-assed Disney XD clone.
I like the idea of course, but Toonami even getting a larger timeslot at all is unfeasible at this point, just because of how little money the revived block has.
Trust me I know all about this.
I am your resident Toonami man. I'd get a TOM avatar if I didn't have my avatar rules.
I got up to episode 9 of TTGL before my brother decided he didn't want to watch it anymore. Strangely, however, he won't let me watch it without him for some odd reason (if you don't like the show anymore since your favorite character left, why can't I watch it because of that?).

Back when Weasel got its own show, its segments were edited out of C&C; the two were not reunited until 2007, when they came to the US Boomerang. I keep wishing they'd put on solo Weasel, but they don't care. >_>
You are the end result of a “would you push the button” prompt where the prompt was “you have unlimited godlike powers but you appear to all and sundry to be an impetuous child” – Zero, 2022

That's because they won't let us have the good without the bad.
Seriously Weasel is a much better character than the entire combined cast of C&C.

I like Lain better anyway, main character in that is at least likable.
Lain is certainly more likable than Shinji. Some of the alternative universe mangas are interesting in that Shinji is usually a HELL of a lot more likable in the sense that he replaces the "I mustn't run away" attitude with a "Protect ALL the friends" attitude that imbues him with the ability to kick ass.

" Until she, y'know, becomes God. But that's like the last episode."
I think the idea was that she technically already was God, just that it took her a few tried to get to be someone she liked. And she reset herself and probably other aspects a few times until she reached this point.
Some hints at this is that other characters recognize her early in the series, even when she has no recollection of meeting them before or of things she's done in the past.
Not that any of this undermines your point, or anything...
So anyway, I finally got curious and googled these "THESE DRUGS ARE KILLING YOU EVEN THOUGH THE FDA HASN'T SAID OTHERWISE" ads, and they're not even actually from real lawyers! They're from the same boiler-room shysters that sell shady mortgages and automotive extended warranties. :P

Doesn't everyone in Kentucky spend their money on horses?
Also I kinda want to watch more C&C now, Anonus; I never watched it when it was new.

Oh, it's still a non-sequitur. It's just one that happens to be vaguely related to the topic at hand.

I want to be on the road right now.
On a two-lane country highway into middle of nowhere.

Toonami had a channel in the UK.
It sucked and eventually turned into CN Too, a half-assed Disney XD clone.

Bleh, Cow and Chicken.
I Am Weasel! was okay, though. I just wish they weren't constantly run as backup shows to each other.

Watch it when they put it on Toonami.
Cuz they've all but confirmed it at this point.

Lain also reminds me A) of myself and B) of that cousin I always mention. So she's also a bit more relatable.
