When did he start the shift?

Uh, I can't quite remember. He's been working this weird half-night-shift for a while now, but he keeps switching it up slightly.
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
    He sounds indecisive.

    He kinda is.

It doesn't help that he's only at a position in his job where he pretty much has no choice but to work whatever schedule they give him.
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
...now I wonder what his job is. (Is this too intrusive?)

And Hallmark has invaded my mind.

He works at a call center for Dish Network. I'm fairly sure he's not actually on the phones anymore, though, he works in...quality-control, I think? You know, the guy who listens in on other people's calls and dings them when they get things wrong.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
I would never want to work a phone job.

    Me either.

That's actually why my mother left her previous job. They put her on the phones and she immediately started looking for another job.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
I have to answer the phone occasionally at my job, but not very much. If I were on it constantly I'd quit.

I need to get a job.

If only so I can afford to buy myself some women's clothing

    Mother works at a call-center.

    Also Hi Imi.

For a long time my mother worked customer service via email. Then they outsourced her job to Mumbai and put her in a job where she had to call customers on a regular basis.

Now she works as a letter-writer in an executive office of the same bank.
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
I guess I should be glad Mother hasn't been caught in the various cost-cuts and firings.

My mother is actually better off this way, as (a) letter-writing has always been one of her strengths, and (b) she had maxed-out her pay at her previous job--they were never going to give her another raise. Her new job pays the same amount, but there's still room to move up.

    Ooh!
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
My father worked as a computer programmer for 25 years. My mother was a nurse.

Since we're talking about parental occupations.
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
My mother used to be a nurse too! She worked in a psych ward and had to wrestle mental patients.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
Ah. I don't think mine did that. Just the non-psych patients.

...your mom must be pretty tough.
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
    Probably.

She told me this when Father and I watched WCW Monday Nitro a lot. I still miss that show.

It doesn't help that right after Time Warner deemed WCW a Nonessential Asset and sold it to the WWF they switched TNT's logo to this thing, which has somehow stuck around for ten years.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
    Ugly.

My parents never had cool jobs.
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
^^I don't think it's "ugly" as much as it is "bland".

When ABC Inc wanted to purchase TNT it's first act as new owner would be to revive this.

^^I stand by my assertion. It's ugly. And bland.

I don't watch TV, though, so they don't care about my opinion.
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
Lots of people don't watch TV, but they might care if you're loud enough.

Ah, you caught that, huh? I would have used a nonexistent US Route as well, but I couldn't think of any off the top of my head.
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
I looked it up on Wikipedia. It redirected to the Interstate Highway System article.

This is the trash heap of the TV Tropes forum.
    The only rules are:
    • Thou shalt not discard too many pieces of trash at one time. A good rule of thumb is to discard two or three at most, if you really feel the urge to do so, but generally stick to one.
    • Thou shalt not discard excessively large trash items
here. Generally speaking, Supreme Court decisions, novellas,
political and religious tracts, and charters of government institutions
are also not trash. However, even if it is trash, such as a miserable large pile of adeninesimage, disposing them here makes the higher-ups angry. And when higher-ups get angry, we can no longer enjoy nice things, such as having a place to discard our trash.
That said, topic is now about bananas.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
The immortal words of our creator.
  • This isn't a tract so much as a survay of opinions. anarcho-syndicalism? Thoughts?
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
I don't know very much about it.
  • Are you now or have you ever 8een a Canadian chick with oatmeal for 8oo8s and a h8red of pants?

    No, I have not.

...why am I thinking of Cow and Chicken?
  • Yes. Pantsless Canadian chick with oatmeal 8oo8s.

I have my reasons for asking people this.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
    oatmeal...?

    oatmeal...?

    my mind is blown

    And no pants either!

    ...and CANADIAN!
  • Yep. Oh you'd also have to 8e a Trekkie.
  • Touch the cow. Do it now.
I was one of those, when I was a kid anyway.
  • The plot thickens!

    Just like........ oatmeal. ::::o
  • The word "oatmeal" is 8eginning to look really weird to me, like it is not actually a real word.

    OATMEAL
  • I've learned to tolerate drama...except on the boat
